After getting Keppon some water, and propping him up against a sun-warmed rock, Taena, Teegan and Sukrae gathered around the wounded man.
"I guess you're all wondering how I got here," said Keppon, staring up into the gloomy sky.
"Well, sort of," Taena said, frowning, "If you're sure you feel well enough to speak."
A bird twittered, and then all was silent.
"Well or not, I want to tell you, maybe you can do something," said Keppon, seeming to draw strength from the sky.
"About a month ago I was walking down a grassy lane with my wife, we were newlyweds you see, and had come to the country for our honeymoon. So we were walking along, not saying much, when Karla seemed to trip and fall.
I reached down to help her up, and to my horror I saw that there was a dagger in her back. I pulled it out, and, sitting down beside her, rolled her over to check her pulse.
She was still alive at that point, and told me that she loved me before passing away.
I looked up, and there was a man, standing over me with a smile on his face. I asked him if he had seen the murderer and he said he had, I asked him who it was, and he told me that it was himself. Then he disappered, teleported I suppose, after handing me a piece of paper.
I looked at the paper and it was a map; at the bottem of the map he told me his name, Kerr.
