Scyne nodded. "Look at what you just said. That's why you're a good guy."
Jay finally saw his logic. "I see. Well, then I guess this meeting is over? The next time we meet, I assume it'll be with cold steel."
Scyne shrugged. "I left you a little surprise."
Jay checked his logout menu- the button had returned. Scyne had let him free with no promise of the pass word.
Jay started to climb up the ladder that would lead out of the warehouse. He paused at the top and looked down at Scyne, who was looking straight forward at the basement wall.
Jay held the crumpled parchment in his hand which contained the pass word. He looked once more at Scyne, realizing that if he handed off this piece of parchment, he could be ruining everything. He took a deep breath and let the pass word fall to the ground, to Scyne. He climbed the rest of the way up the ladder, and paused. He had definitely gained quite a bit of respect for Scyne- not necessarily his cause, but him as a person. Handing over the pass word was risky. But, to Jay, it seemed as though Scyne was more interested in becoming famous than hurting anyone. And, at this point, he actually found himself trusting Scyne to a degree. Either way, he was ready to take a break from it all. Jay grinned to himself, and logged off.
Scyne picked up the parchment and read it: Fool's Gold.
He had confidence that this was what he was seeking. Now, however, he had reached the point of no return. From that moment forward, he would have to keep his allies close, and his enemies closer.
Scyne had caught wind of the return of a legend- Zert. He had no idea if he would recognize him, or if he would take on a ruse. But, either way, times were darkening, and recruiting for his side would have to begin.
