Review 1.1
Your praises make me rrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaage
Oh, and yes, you can make a good story without violent conflict. :P Anyways, I recall reading the first page of this story some time ago. I was going to post about it, but decided not to (I think I was typing Cold Eyes during that time).
I never liked C S Lewis.
Alright, onto the story.
Haha, I had a reflection. I've been around since 2002 (at the same time I bought Dungeon Siege), and during that whole time, from RSC to RS, I've never really cared about money or stats. Even to this day I am the same, I'm just one of those level 101s who never had what he dreamed of.
For me it was killing barbarians for hours on end. After goblins I mean, heehee.
I guess for people like us, RuneScape really was more than just a game, but something special that it had which kept us attracted to it like a magnet.
I always had a feeling it was the desire to conquer the troubles, but at the same time, not reach the top.
In my college, which is a rather small campus that includes a university as well, our teachers generally want us to talk a lot, especially my history teacher, and he's a pretty cool guy who's fair to students like me, the ones who are 'good students' with bad marks.
I never found long faces attractive. Too British. But Anne Lennox is a very surprisingly attractive British woman (the singer from Eurythmics. Looks and sounds great even after 30 years :P ).
Drinking alcohol was fun when I was 16, so easy. I first got very drunk in Poland after drinking 750ml of bison grass vodka. I had a hangover for almost three days lol XD
Now I really don't find drinking as fun anymore.

Funny, the narrator's name is Danny, and in the story I'm working on, there is also a character named Danny, Danny the Dinosaur.
I remember when I first became a member. After the following few days, I stumbled upon the Stories forum and that was what sparked me into never leaving RS.
I think what made me unique was that all my RS stories are RuneScape, but took RuneScape to another world rather than taking my story into it.
Nothing to say for some posts. Very nice reflecting story.
Page 3
Oops, forgot to put where I started commenting about page 2, oh well.
I recall going through people who wanted me to do work for them, but being a stubborn Polack, I always refused, even when offered 'good money.' I don't remember the numbers, but I remember always being stubborn and believing that I could do better by myself. I never put myself below others, I always did the opposite, like how Napoleon crowned himself Emperor because the pope was too slow; others were too slow, and I could be the greatest whenever I wanted.
Loving RuneScape, like how David 'loves' Jenna. It's not real love, just passion to have a close friend. Maybe this is some foreshadowing.
Unlovable, unattractive, bullied, feels familiar. Grade 8 was fun for me. I'd intentionally insult guys in grade 11 or 12, sometimes swearing in their faces beside a teacher or two (Once I was sent to the office :P ), and loved it how the 'big kids' would walk away like sissies, sometimes after self-defence in words.
When I myself got into grade 12 I understood why they did nothing back.
So, looks like Alex wants to be something that he's not, and Danny wants to be Alex in RuneScape.

Funny, I really didn't have anything to say for an entire page D:
Conclusion
The story was a surprise. I was expecting something like what I read, but yet, it felt different. What I found unusual was that I ended up reflecting about my own life and how it merged with RuneScape, and did get lots of memories rushing in, but I won't bother with them.
I was surprised to find out that I didn't have much to comment on, let alone bash or poke fun at innocently, or even tease.
The story feels like a reflection about life, and how something as simple as a browser game can influence feelings, unless I misunderstood something.
I think a few times the story felt like a description of feelings about something, but it was a very minor issue and not much to worry about.
As usual, spelling and grammar is just about perfect, and I'd score this story something around 85-95% - you can pick whatever number in-between you feel is most appropriate.
I read the praises but didn't get as strong a feeling as they did. I'm hoping I didn't miss a life-changing element in the story. I wouldn't say it's boring though.
Concerning about 'life,' for me life feels like dying memories, and once they die, there is no time to go back again.
I guess that, since we won't be born again, everything just waits for an end.
Well, I think that's my reflection about the story at best. I'll end the review with my own suggestion, seeing as how you suggest books from the real world.

Sometime down the road, maybe you'll have a chance to read 'The Seven Hills,' a novel by Leonard Wibberly. By its title, you can tell it's about Ancient Rome, set during the time of Christ. What I really found interesting is that it's unlike many other novels about the same subject.
I've read that book maybe six times and every time I read it, I found something new about it, because I never understand it, and some parts are hard to read.
Well, that's all for now. I hope the review was at least worthwhile to read :P

“Your praises make me rrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaage”
--Remind me again. Why did they make you rage? :P . Was it because of the vanity of it all?

“I never liked C S Lewis.”
--Heh, I was just after a quote. Happened that I came across this and thought it fit in well with the story. Lol.

“I'm just one of those level 101s who never had what he dreamed of.”
--Might be interesting if we duel, hehe.

--I have no idea who Ann Lennox is O_o
“I was expecting something like what I read, but yet, it felt different.”
--What was it that you expected? You never said.

“What I found unusual was that I ended up reflecting about my own life and how it merged with RuneScape, and did get lots of memories rushing in, but I won't bother with them.”
--According to Julian Carax in The Shadow of the Wind, books are mirrors, and they reflect what you already have inside of you. So I reckoned this story is the same in many ways. What you take from it largely depends on your own experiences in life. This is why between my readers, they always feel something different.

“I was surprised to find out that I didn't have much to comment on, let alone bash or poke fun at innocently, or even tease.”
--This particular story has actually proved quite difficult for many reviewers in the past. After a certain point, probably about the bullies scene, they just simply forgot to comment. It needed something downright bad to get them out of their concentration, and with each review, those downright bad moments just got less and less. You may be surprised; I’m not though :P . It’s known to do this to reviewers.

“The story feels like a reflection about life, and how something as simple as a browser game can influence feelings, unless I misunderstood something.”
--As I said, this story is a mirror. Thus every reader who reads this would take away something completely different, based on their own life experiences. For some readers, they’ll relive those moments of being picked on fondly. Some readers began to feel that there may be a real person on the other side of the screen. Since there isn’t a set amount of points you need to see in yourself, technically you can’t miss.
However, for me, it was more about Alex’s devotion to this game. He played this game out of love, and nothing else. And he’d worked, only to realise in the end that David was not worth it. So in essence, for me, this is about sacrificing one’s life for someone who truly mattered, and then have it slapped back into your face.

“I think a few times the story felt like a description of feelings about something, but it was a very minor issue and not much to worry about.”
--I don’t quite understand that. :P
“I read the praises but didn't get as strong a feeling as they did. I'm hoping I didn't miss a life-changing element in the story. I wouldn't say it's boring though.”
--As I said earlier, you can’t possibly miss anything. The important thing is you form your own experience and take away what you understand from this story. Those readers that you read may have a completely different set of life experiences that compelled them to feel pity for Alex. I know you like to act tough and not be affected by emotions so if you don’t drown yourself in them, or rather, you don’t let it engulf you, you won’t feel very much. Then of course there are readers who just said male relationships are wrong, and I should see the doctor. Those don’t usually get quoted on the front page.

I’ll check that book out.

The praises don't make me rage, it was meant in a humorous way. I must have a stale sense of humour D:
Did learn a few more points about the story now. Yeah it was a bit difficult to review but overall a nice thing to read.
Yup, that's all for now then.
Ok, awsome. Double-checking ensures.
