This story seems to cover the opposites, and leave one questioning.
It is shallow on one end (RuneScape), and extremely deep on the next (Love, ect), and in the lowest parts I seemed to be barraged by the affliction of a nihilistic perspective on life.
I found it a bit hard to read, but not due to grammatical construct, rather because I myself am an 18 year old male who has spent (though I'm no Kipplin and don't have 99 farming) far to much of his life on RuneScape, avoiding real confrontations.
Lol. =p

I wouldn't consider RuneScape a shallow game at all lol, I actually try to derive some meaning from it, and see how it reflects the way of the world.
I'll understand if it is a challenging read, because some of the concepts behind its making is a little bizarre and unconventional. I'll also understand it is not everybody's cup of tea. After all, you can't write a story that everybody likes.
Would you like to talk in game?

Well I've been playing it for many, many years, and I find it quite shallow, but I guess that kind of thing is simply in the eye of the beholder.
I rarely talk in game (I leave private off to avoid being mobbed by 'friends'), but if I'm on you can find me in my clan chat, usually.
As for your story, I liked it a lot. It was bewildering, though. Lol.

Either case, thank you for reading :)
I'm not saying this game is deep either - but it is made by real people, played by real people, so in a sense it will to some degree reflect human nature, and that is what I like to explore.
You could, conversely, wait for a more suitable mentor to adopt you if that is what you wanted ;)
P.S. I think Chuk may suit you as a mentor, on second thought.

Basically, you'll have a friend that guides you around the story forum, who knows where to go, apply for what, and help you make friends and establish your circle of readers.
Also, choose them wisely, as they have different personalities and you need to find what kind of people you work best with, or feel comfortable with. A mentor is there also to read your work, give you feedback, and so on. They may have specialist subjects or genres, but that is for you to find out. For you though, I suggest an experienced author such as Elite, Chuk, or myself. But of course the ultimate choice is yours :)

I have just read this story... and re-read.
Totally unique in the other stories I have read on the forums. I am guessing (this is a story), but real life experience is the most powerful story-teller of all time, and this resonates throughout this piece.
I was moved and utterly impressed by this most masterful piece of writing. I loved reading the emotion, the nuance of Runescape and real-life and the interaction of the same.
It also reminds me a little of something Tolkien once wrote....
"....Still around the corner we may meet
A sudden standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!"
We cannot ever know what is around the corner, and life twists in ways we cannot yet forsee.
Utterly impressive in scope, style and meaning. It was an utter pleasure to read this.
:)

Confused me? No, not at all- I read again with pleasure and I sincerely wish you the very best.
You are an extremely accomplished writer and the emotion of this piece shudders through the text like a piece of ice searing with the pain of burning cold.
This is remarkable and again, thank you so much for sharing it with the story community.
