The Fre'kerra clan has several chambers where surface trees & bushes can grow, commoners may still grow cavern fungi to sustain themselves and others.

A lack of glorious sunlight causes problems, as well.
It is not harmful for us. Perhaps for you. But not us. For us, It is life. On Wednesdays, we wear pink.

Actually what he says is true. What do you think a sunburn is? And what is skin cancer cuased by hmm? Our so called "real light" is harmful in both large doses all at once, or small doses over a long period of time.

also concerning Elves, this passage shows that the author of the diary you found needn't have laughed at himself, for Elves can speak to and tame most any living thing-
