I think the main downside of the Story Forums is that instead of uploading new content, most people just go about bumping old threads so that nothing ever drops off of page 50. As far as I can tell it just encourages stagnation, especially because the bumped stories aren't getting updated so any stories that are actually in production get pushed further down the list. I have made a few short works in these forums on my community threads, though very little activity appeared on them. I have several old works in these forums, which I'd like to see alive for nostalgia. The biggest issue I have is how slow it is to post a story in these outdated forums; I have to upload a max of 2k words per go, and then after fifteen or so posts, my activity limit is reached and I have more waiting.

Hence, I prefer Wattpad, as I can easily and quickly upload entire stories/chapters within seconds. It's also easier to find chapters to fix, add or adjust content. The RuneScape Forums are simply no place for anyone who seriously wants to make long-term stories; infinitely better to make stories in a website that is actually dedicated for authors and storytelling.
