Hmmm, if you reckon he's only going to persevere because of plot armor and thread positioning then you clearly don't know the man.
Still, we as writers should always try and work together to provide a good story, rather than chest pounding and harping on about how powerful our characters are
If Cirion gets knocked out by Black, John will most likely use him like a man uses a woman then cut his throat.
This is not a nice bloke.
As Black hasn't met Soahc yet, he has no reason to take prisoners for him.
If your wanting your character to get captured I'd advise getting away from the current fight (pretty easy, as we have hoards of guards and mercenaries bearing down on us)
Then look to someone like the Pyromistress, The Cross Road Demon or Soahc himself to get yourself captured.
