The adoptee was worth enough to be raised like a noble's child, but exactly how much, we won't ever know. Back then, people were used to making tough, unhappy choices. Though it was political in the end, at least the daughter was able to reach adulthood, something 50% of people back then never achieved.

Oh, and anyways, the Tower of Babel's gonna be awesome to read about! I'm curious as to how you're going to form the devil-worshipper and deal with the situation.
