Sorry, didn't think the weapon would be op. I was more thinking of brief boosts that would fade away over time. An archdemon would be a different story tho I'd think, it would fade away but it would hurt him immensely.

It would be the same concept as his aura ability. The stronger the energy the brief power would be great but the end results would be deadly if not dangerous.

OK, so the powers of the sword are like ammo or energy, and limited. This should be fair, so we'll go by this.

Guthix claimed to have made the sword in a god letter.

Your claim is invalid.

God letters aren't canon. How else do you explain Zamorak acting like a completely evil ****, when really he is a good-intentioned but really really dumb ****?

Honestly, that Dishonor Among Thieves quest killed Zamorak's character for me. It reduced him from this big bad villain to a dude who was reduced to a crying, begging heap, and nuked an entire continent by accident.

Jagex believes we're all Saradominists at heart, and thus are trying to make gods morally grey likeable characters by painting every god (except Saradomin) in a good light.

I guess being a Saradominist really is a test of faith these days, given what little we actually know about Saradomin that might actually lead to us liking him on a personal level.

Yeah, the only straight-up evil god with Bandos, and he died.

I just feel like they could have handled Zamorak better, that's all.

Zamorak: The weak deserve to die so that the strong may flourish.
Player: Hey Zamorak, you know if it wasn't for the intervention of like, five random human scrubs, you never would have gotten the power necessary to defeat Zaros. Also, Zaros was going to give his empire to you and Azzanadra anyways.
Zamorak: What... that didn't-
Player: Hey, remember when Saradomon, Armadyl, and Bandos totally pwned you?
Zamorak: That was'* fair... I was-
Player: Oh, how about when you came back you were immediately defeated by Saradomin?
Zamorak: I was winning at first! Filthy faction-hoppers...
Player: Oh, and when me and Sliske totally upstaged you?
Zamorak: ENOUGH!
Player: But I'm the World Guardian! You can't touch me!

Actually, come to think of it, Bandos and Zamorak are pretty similar. Bandos is just way more extreme, while Zamorak's chaos and destruction is (usually) a lot more controlled and meant to serve a purpose.

I don't even think anyone wants to support Zamorak any more, for fear that no one else is going to so why bother?

Bandos wasn't inherently evil - he simply believed heavily in the survival of the strongest, and, according to Zaros, wasn't quite the brute everyone made him out to be. The only reason why we ever painted him evil was because he decided to test the worthiness a group of cave goblins who just so happened to be our friends.

To be fair, everyone knows the World Guardian is a big fish now - they lead what's left of Guthix's followers, and to make an enemy of them is to give another god a powerful ally. Though aggressive, Zamorak himself isn't stupid enough to make everyone hate him - he doesn't do evil for the lolz like his followers seem to believe, but rather because he obtains the peoples support and power through chaos.

People didn't support Zammy at first because he was the stupid-evil faction. Then, when Zaros became a thing, he became the Zaros hating faction. It's obvious why people never support him - though it's silly considering how Zarosians always seem to want to line up for the Godless whenever Zaros doesn't take part. If you think about it, Zamorak is the ultimate Zarosian.

At least, that's what I believe is going on.

Yeah it would be limited, to keep him from getting op. Also would make things interesting if he did kill an archdemon lol
and nothing was spoiled :P

So, like, Gwen with Excalibur in one hand, and Kuro's sword in the other after killing the Demon God?

O_o I don't intend on corrupting Excalibur, if that's what you mean. I mean, it's already a powerful spellsword - what else could you add, besides an anime laser blast?

... anime laser blast...

DAMN IT. Why didn't I add one of those?

Since Gwen's ability can enhance the ability of magical items, I just wondered what the effect with Kuro's black sword might be. O_o Meh, we'll probably never know. ;)
