Perhaps I should make a character who doesn't have the exact same name as all the other characters I've created.

... I think it's fair to reuse the same character over and over, proportional to the amount of satisfying endings you have actually managed to achieve with them. Though if I actually followed that logic, I would still be reusing the character "Dirk Felix" from 4 years ago...
