I dunno, I think Azi has a valid point. Lots of people prefer their modern shooter games or apocalypse survival games to have realistic firearm mechanics, why not the same for fantasy? I watch a lot of YouTube videos where plenty of peple discuss realism in fantasy fiction.

Plus I play a ton of Minecraft modpacks that complicate the game x10000 and people enjoy them more than default.

Oh no, now Inferi knows I'm here and is angrily wondering why I haven't posted on Infinity.
Ramsay Bolton is the king we deserve.

I'm not saying games shouldn't be realistic, just you can only make a game be so realistic and educational before you risk taking away from the overall enjoyment of the game. And that while there are many who would want it to be more realistic as well, that number is not yet high enough to make the games' creators put more effort into realism.

All good points Lasky and Venom, they're reasonable and understandable. Personally, it's getting tiring seeing the same creative ignorance for the past twenty years that it kinda gets boring. I still think disarming, pushing, tripping, choking, grappling, and jumping into characters, with according reactions, would make games so much more dynamic and funner even if they're intentionally unrealistic.

For example, one thing I never seen in video games, is hooking the bottom of an halberd's axe blade over an enemy's shield's rim, pulling it down, and then thrusting the spearhead into the face/throat. It can be done in real-life, and in a game, it'd be pretty cool to see. Similar tactics of hooking with the crossguard are also historic, at least in medieval Europe.

oh, and before I forget, take a moment on this Remembrance Day to think of those who gave their lives.

Lastly, I should be able to post on Into the Fire tomorrow night, fyi.

Personally I'm quite enjoying the image of Kuro still being slumped unconscious over a table, with no one seemingly worried for his health. I imagine Guthix will be back at Christmas time, but until then maybe we should have a little escort quest where monsters inexplicably target him over any competent/alive member of the group.

Because I know everybody loves escort quests.

EDIT: I have a bad feeling I didn't post for Zed and Judy last night
Hags be hagglin', gods be god damn crazy, it's all happening ogre at Into The Fire

Or everyone could just forget about him and leave him there? Then when he wakes up he will never know he was on any sort of quest - he will just assume he got really drunk while staying at a bed and breakfast.

But at one point didn't Guthix specify that Kuro wasn't unconscious, just paralyzed or something? Last time he was here he was complaining about how there was nothing for Kuro to do. Did he forget he had two other characters?

Also I just realized that Balmor Highrock is basically Varric Tethras from Dragon Age. They are both story-telling crossbow-wielding dwarf rogues. The only difference is that Balmor rides a boar.

Well, Dishonored certainly has the ability to jump and slide into characters, causing them to stagger, fall over, cry out in pain, etc. They also have the choking part down, but only if you're behind the enemy and they are unaware of you - it's usually done as a means to knock your target unconscious without killing them. But there is no disarming mechanic, which is unfortunate in a game that rewards you for keeping a low body count or not killing anyone at all.

Assassins Creed does all of those things you listed as well, but that series has started to go downhill these days.
