Just to make you aware, Chloelle is also a child of Adrianna. She was five when the elven queen passed away. ^^
Yeah. That's the thing. I'm going to spend some time re-doing my bio, as there are a lot of issues with it. I became uncomfortable with the idea of choosing to be the "final child of Queen Adrianna after I posted it. So just consider most of the bio non-canon as I fix these issues.
Edit: I finished my edits.

Poor Flynn - all he wanted was to spend time with his siblings and play, yet now his eldest brother hates him and jealously spent a fortune on an enchanted dagger similar to Flynn's.
Seems it's up to the eldest (maturity-wise) sibling to build bridges back over these festering wounds.

Yeah, Lew's pretty childish like that. Given he hasn't seen Flynn in years, he's going to be more than a bit curious about what Flynn's been up to in the few years he's been gone. More than anything he abhors Flynn's death magic. He abhors the very concept of death magic, resurrecting the dead, entropy, etc. He finds it more than a bit repulsive.
As for the dagger, It works almost identically to Flynn's in that it augments his life magic. He may hate Flynn, but even he would admit that Flynn's decisions spur him to be better, in his view. Hence the one-sided rivalry. When your character does something Lew despises, He'll do the opposite to spite Flynn.

To be fair Flynn's dagger doesn't really augment his magic so much as cause a spreading necrotic rot where he wounds somebody with it, which does wonders to disable someone or put them down fast.

I'm surprised he'd even have a dagger that steals people's life if he hates death magic so much. That feels much more death-ish to me than life-ish.
If you don't mind me asking, though, where did he get his dagger enchanted? It feels like the normal enchant process in most fantasy settings wouldn't be viable here.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

Life magic and death magic share a lot of the same spells. This is based on Elder Scrolls Oblivion logic where absorbing health falls under the Restoration School. Oblivion was my first RPG, As such, it's so hard for me to decide whether absorbing health falls under life, or death magic. It's incredibly ambiguous to me.
I replaced his dagger with a rapier. He would have undergone weapons training just in case his retainers were incapacitated or killed, mostly at the insistence of King Yarum. He absolutely despises the word, but carries it in it's sheath on his belt in the event something like that happens. He'd rather be a hypocrite than dead.
