Y'know, I only just realized this.

If there's no sunlight in Sudovia, how the heck does the place have a forest? How will they grow crops to feed the humans? Don't those things (humans) need sunlight for vitamin D? Does the eternal night only effect Sudovia (possibly prompting a world war), and how long has it been around for?

The idea of eliminating the sun always seemed like a bad move to me.

I noticed that as well way earlier than you. I actually have a solution ready for after we get to the hideout.

but if you're in a fantasy world, you can literally just say things are the way they are because of magic and stuff.

Well, in other news, a pretty crazy thing happened. I got a letter today as I was chosen to be a juror, signed by a staff sergeant of the sheriff. In Canada, you have to respond to this summons, otherwise you can get penalized by the law. Since I am a governmentally licenced security guard, I certainly must take this very seriously. I filled out the form and mailed it in the envelope provided.

Anyways, the date is March 30th and is estimated to last twenty three days. I may not be necessarily chosen, but I still must attend the court proceeding. If I am not chosen, my name stays on-file for a year. If I am chosen, after I finish the court proceedings, my name gets taken off for two years.

Fortunately, I kept my two textbooks from criminology, will definitely study them every night at least a little. I don't have to necessarily know the law, but better to be informed so I don't make myself look dumb in a courthouse. Most of you know my lack of communication skills, so I gotta do this right.

So, ya, I am a bit nervous. Hopefully, all goes well.

Anywhere you live, you must answer a court summons, otherwise you can get hit with contempt of court charges. Which is technically a felony in the U.S, so I assume Canada copied America's penal code on that. XD. I got summoned to court a year ago. The only ways you can get off a court roster is if you are not chosen, or if you have a severe documented disability and cognitive issues. In my case, my disability is not severe at all. However I did fake it to get off the hook. =) Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy! =)

I've had court summons here too in the US.

For me, at the county level, they do what you might consider a 2 tier jury pool.

1st tier, is they call in a bunch of people. You sit in a huge room (hundreds of you). Everybody, ofc, has a number.
When they need a pool of jurors, they'll call a block of numbers. ie 1-50. (they've always called sequential blocks). The size of the block they call will be dependent on how may people actually show up + the estimated number of people for the jury. (so you may see a 100-150 then followed by 150-250). And yeah, stinks if you have a low number.
Then, depending on how many trials they have to go thru that day or week, they may only need a few blocks ... or ... they might need a bunch.

Most of the times I've been in the pools, I was in the large room until lunch time, and they never got close to my number.
One year, I had what I thought was a high number. It was like 1400 or something, maybe higher. Then when they started calling blocks ... 1-150. 150-200. 200-something. Then they kept coming back in, calling in more and more large block sizes.
I was called.
I was naive and answered all the questions honestly for the smaller jury pool. got selected. So got to sit in on an actual criminal trial.
Then again, did get to experience the process for it first hand. Plus I was somewhat masochistic and wanted to see what it was like since it was the first time for me. Plus got to be off from work for 3 days.

Yeah, you can get into serious trouble if you don't report.
In the US, there are legal reasons why you don't HAVE to serve
- age
- taking care of a minor or a dependent (ie: sick parent full time)
- in school/college

In the specific jury pool, you'll usually see people with illness/injury as excuses (one person was quickly excused from my jury pool because he CLEARLY had the flu, another had mentioned having shoulder surgery and was on pain meds). Some of the reasons for DQ was because you wouldn't be able to competently render a judgement (the one on pain meds might not be able to adequately pay attention, there was one with limited English skills).
After that, ofc, they go thru the jurors looking for ones who aren't biased (ie: no, you're not the type to give someone who shoplifted the death penalty, you're not against someone based on appearance/gender/ethnicity)

Hey Azi,

Something I noticed... Willow isn't connected to Jonathan. She is connected to the security cameras in the tower. She wouldn't have been able to detect that someone else was watching Jonathan through his own "Programming etc." So there would be nothing to take her away from her connections to the tower & she is still unconscious on the street. ( The rest with the robot sentry is fine.. I have plan for that, but she wouldn't be awake to hear it.)
There isn't one.
