My feelings over the recent posts were similar to Inferi's, though he said pretty much everything that needed to be said at the time.
One thing I do want to point out though, is that in the hallway nobody seems to have reacted to Hadrian's pledge. That is, the part from where he said 'I am Hadrian Hallow' up until 'Last Princess of Sudovia'. That paragraph would've been audible to the vampires and slaves present, albeit nothing else would've been heard by anyone but Lia. If they wouldn't have reacted to it, fair enough I guess, though it seemed like something they would react to beyond continuing to stare. Or at least, the two retainer vampires might've - since I presume Lexius wouldn't have been there for that part.
The scene started as a fight, quickly became a 'fake duel' due to onlookers showing up so the pair couldn't speak openly, and worked up to the meaningful climax of Hadrian doubling down on his pledge of loyalty (after understanding the riddle of who he was fighting) to Sudovia and particularly the last remaining member of its royal family - made before witnesses who may not have fully understood the gravity of his words. Not the chaff at least. I presume Inferi wanted to wait for your posts before posting a reply, Rainbow, to see how Hakkon and Sven would react.
I am Inferi.
