Are u talking about Hunger games?
No. Latest quest in game, Curse of the Black Stone.
One of the steps is you recruiting some Kinshra/Black Knights to help in creating a strike force.
One of the Lieutenants in the Kinshra is a woman (she serves in the area commanded by Lord Daquarius). Her sister tried to join the Kinshra. She was a promising recruit.
There are 'traditionalists' among the Kinshra who don't think women should join their ranks.
One particular Commandant in the training program is among those traditionalists.
If you're a woman he effectively ends your training program (no matter how good you are), and then sentences you to having your tongue cut out (given the poor quality of medicine in the pseudo-medieval-fantasy environment, that is a potential death sentence). And then you get forced to cook, clean, etc for the remainder of your likely short and terrified life.
If you don't believe me, log into RS3. Pay a visit to the Black Knight's Fortress.
Go up to the 2nd or 3rd Floor (the one with the Kitchens).
You'll see what I'm talking about.
The Fortress is an F2P area, so you can get into it pretty easily.

I actually just noticed this, but Riniya - in your bio it says that Aranel left the elven lands when she was around 126 due to the deal made with the 'plague' in West Ardougne, yet that would mean King Lathas is well over 130 years old since he waas the one who made the deal. It would also mean the 'plague' has been there for over a hundred years, when I think it all kicked off around five years before the adventurer learned it was all a lie. What with Tyras going over there and all.
Maybe this is an alt timeline or something, just thought it was really weird.
I am Inferi.
Welcome back, Rainbow. I hope your new place and RP in progress do well.

Well, that's new.
I know nothing of RS lore, so I can't add much to it. Though, considering what's happened in KoA, it seems to deviate from in-game lore. A different timeline, as George said, makes sense.

It's kind of ironic, since there's a possibility that you can't join Saradomin's temple knights unless you're a woman (simply being one is one of their tests).

Honestly, refreshing myself on RS lore, it comes as a shock to see how young the major Kingdoms are.
Asgarnia, for instance, is only a little over 150 years old. Kandarin was founded less than one hundred years ago. Misthalin is the oldest Kingdom, yet Asgarnia and Kandarin are far larger and more prosperous (political divisions aside.) It almost feels like there weren't any human settlements at all during the Third and early Fourth Ages.
Meanwhile the Kinshra have only been exiled from Falador for about seven years.
RIP Tyras. Another name to add to the long list of people the PC has gotten killed due to ineptitude.
But yeah. Tyras went on a crusade to stop the rebel elves who wanted to resurrect "The Dark Lord," and made an alliance with the other elves. Lathas thought "The Dark Lord" was Zamorak (it was actually a fragment of Seren's dark side), and wanted to bring him back, so he allied with the rebel elves and put Tyras's half of the city under quarantine.
Lathas also hated King Arthur for some reason. I don't remember why.
Anyway it's not really lore friendly to have elves east of the Underground Pass in general, but that's something I personally think is fine to handwave away.
Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

That's because most of the pre-godwar Human settlements were largely destroyed or rendered uninhabitable after the God Wars. Morytania, for example, wasn't always a giant swamp - it used to be Saradomin's holy land before the Vamp's and Werewolves took over. And Zaros had a large following in what would later be known as the Wilderness. The Khariddian desert used to be a lush forest. These settlements were all sacked, terraformed and abandoned for obvious reasons.
I assume there was something of a dark age after the gods disappeared in the early fourth age. After all, there were no gods to guide their societies, so everything fell to tribal anarchy.
I wouldn't look down on Misthalin - Varrock is the third biggest city in Gielinor, and is basically the trade capital of Gielinor. Don't forget that the Grand Exchange is based in Varrock, and the global banking networks were once called "The bank of Varrock".

It's something that does happen though, like with the murdered Elven scouts near the temple near the Salve. I can't remember which quest it was specifically.
I think there's something of a stigma against leaving the elven lands. The Elves don't need to use the underground pass though, since they map and patrol the mountain routes.
