Finished watching a playthrough of Orphen Scion of Sorcery. Brought back so many memories. The last boss was something I never remembered, much to my surprise, it was quite interesting. Looking back at that low budget game, I realize the story was quite beautiful. Nineteen years ago, nine-year-old me just couldn't understand everything, and I now realize the story is a tragedy.

I also found out that the voice actor for Cleo is Jennifer Hale, that totally took me by surprise! Now I know why Cleo is one of my favorite video game characters.

Anyways, ooo! The entire Orphen anime is on YouTube. There seems to be at least two seasons. I know what I'm gonna do for a while! Interested to see if the game deviates from the anime or what. After nineteen years, I'll finally be able to find out. So far, Orphen seems to have a sword in the anime (and in the cover art for the video game box), but he uses a magic-sword in-game.

Oh wow, nineteen years since? Geez, I'm getting old!



OK, watched two episodes. Had a good time. Cleo doesn't know Orphan immediately, so the game would have occurred sometime long afterwards. Vulcan is still as amusing as in-game, he's priceless. Cleo is less girly in the cartoon, too, how she reacts to orphen made me laugh.

I really like how I got the background information not present in the game, that was pretty cool. Orphen's backstory was much, much more than I thought.
