In that case, I like the idea of her discovering it in a wreck somewhere out in the ocean. Anything from the mainland seems like it wouldn't work, and I just like the "found it" more than the "had it".

I wonder what would happen if you unscrewed the cap on land and poured water from it indefinately. Would the world eventually flood, or is the water being drawn from somewhere?

Probably depends on the spell. I was leaning more towards the side of creation myself, so technically it would flood. Of course, it would take several lifetimes at the very least for something like that to happen.

Pretty sure all you'd need to do is make a simple spell to teleport an equally small amount of water off the planet continuously.
