The problem with an Isekai is that it typically revolves around a single character. A roleplay can't do that effectively, at least in my opinion, because, no matter how much we might deny it, everyone wants to be the center of attention in some manner.

All the characters in the thread are in the same mercenary company, Annie. If you joined, then you're in the company. End of story.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

Some series, like Grimgar, do a good job of describing the party chemistry as much as they do the protagonist. Hell, half of the story is the thief trying (and failing) to mediate the party infighting. Plus, there is no rule that states there can only be one chosen one.

Ehh... Sort of, but not really?

More like... Fantasy world where magic and monsters exist. Woo! Soul Weapons are possessed by a small percentage of the population, but only unlock them after choosing one of three 'paths' - basically a choice of either warrior, mage or hybrid. This path choice correlates to what kind of abilities the wielder develops. So... Choose the path of the mage and you'll be able to harness all kinds of magic and do some crazy shit with it. Path of the hybrid is some magic and some martial techniques, obvious middleground of learning some of both but not reaching the highest level stuff. Then warrior, which is all martial and physical stuff.

My really vague idea involved modern day people drawn into the world for some reason, never figured out why, and they have soul weapons so they are to take part in the soul weapon academy to learn to use them for plot reasoning. The vast majority of wielders choose the mage path, because it's fucking magic and it makes everything easy as far as the populace is concerned. Hybrids are considerable in number too for the same reasons, but warriors are few and far between because they can't seem to keep up with those who have magic - and are actually discriminated against in the soul weapon community because they're seen to be inferior.

Except mid-high level warriors, which almost nobody ever reaches the heights of, actually start picking up superhuman techniques and physical abilities that put them on par with mages and such. Effectively along the lines of 'this world favors high level combat' when it comes to fair soul weapon fights.

It looks... interesting?

So would it be fair to compare warriors to Asta in Black Clover - while everyone else is using earth shattering magic, he's duel wielding zweihanders with a charles atlas superpower.

I have no idea who that is, so I don't know.

But effectively something similar. The mages are slinging their super spells and balls of destruction, the hybrids are mainly focused on overusing their magics to keep up, while yes - the warriors come in with whatever their weapon so happens to be and bounce around with swings that'll cleave cliffs in two.

Or use 'techniques' which basically provide a brief super ability, like whirlwind, or charge.
