Also I'm thinking less MMO, and more something like Skyrim, but with co-op.

Another idea I had was that there was some sort of cataclysmic event which causes people to be transported to other worlds. So modern and Sci-Fi people end up a fantasy universe, fantasy and Sci-Fi people end up in the modern universe, and so on. Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

Ehh, the clash of different tech levels might make things a bit complex. I can see the appeal, but I imagine poor modern day folk would get iced when put up against the magic slinging fantasy folk and the high tech plasma gunners. I am Inferi.

I considered making something like that, but I couldn't find a storyline for it that appealed to my mind. Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.
