Yeah, grunge is kind of a niche thing. It's honestly kind of hard to believe how popular it was in the 90s and early '00s. I mean, punk has pretty much always been a very niche genre and it has a lot in common with grunge. I listen to just about any genre of music aside from modern pop and pop-country. In one evening I can go from listening to old country, to red dirt country, classic rock, acid rock, glam metal, black metal, gangsta rap and end up listening to 80s pop or vaporwave type stuff later. I like reggae and jazz and big band as well. I listen to classical music from time to time too. I've been called a hipster because of that, plus I collect vinyl records and listen to them regularly. I can find merit in most genres and a few good, catchy songs from any of them honestly. Never been into music elitism. People can listen to whatever the hell they want, it might not be my first choice but maybe that music connects with them more than it does me on some level.
