So, I booted up my old copy of Fallout NV earlier with the intent of playing a "god-messiah Kira run". For anyone who hasn't watched Gundam Seed, this means the character is restricted to frick'n laser/plasma beams, cannot kill humans (directly), and can't let themselves be killed.

The run actually worked out quite well, at least until I eventually came upon Caesar's camp. As a "stupid good" character, I naturally have to free the hostage from Caesar's tent - but I can't kill anyone while doing so. This is a problem, especially since power fists are more durable than the meat hooks they're attached to.

Heh. I forgot how much fun self-restricted roleplay runs could be.

Inferi, I had an idea for a Crystallis weapon, but I think I should probably run the concept by you first. Is it possible to get a Crystallis gun that fires non-standard rounds, or would you need to chamber a the gun with a Crystallis bullet to create a non-standard effect?

I guess the easiest parallel would be Mass Effect, where you can enchant your gun to cause different effects from the same standard "bullet". So, for example, could an incendiary matrix attached to an otherwise normal gun create incendiary rounds?

Well, the way it works is more of an infusion, so you'd be firing standard bullets that were infused with the fire effect. So yes, it's like activating a ME ammo power. As for if it's viable, if you'd gotten to the Harbinger duel it would have been obvious since his weapon is an elemental handgun.

You can do it with bows and crossbows too.

Magic is just technology we don't understand. At least, that's the modern interpretation everyone seems to be running with. There's no appreciation for the unknowable in a world where we must have all of the answers.

In short:

You're a wizard, Shepard.

That is indeed the general view of magic in films. Heard that, in the film Black Panther , there's an item that creates technology, but it in just magic called technology. I actually do like mysteries and unknowns, but I also like putting an effort in understanding the unknown and the mystery of whatever realm we're in. Apparently, there's a massive cliché of unexplained magic in young adult novels past several years or so.

Speaking of which, I never understood why people complain and criticize them, though, because, at least in my opinion, artists should be allowed to do whatever they want; it's the artist's choice whether or not to have magic that makes some sense or magic that is mysterious and unexplainable. In my case, instead of criticizing about clichés of magic, I just work on my own art, look at that.

In a slightly different topic, damn, I love the beat and riff of this song, especially starting at:

Annie,
Adults tend to not like being coddled, but thank you for your concern anyways. I'm doing alright, don't worry about me. I will begin posting the next turns in the RPs later today, currently busy.
