I'm not saying it's life threatening; I'm saying it's damn annoying to run about in soggy clothes, especially if they're used to a comfortable indoorsy life. It dulls the reactions and the thought processes too, since you're worried more about haste than what the person beside you is doing or thinking. Not the best environment for a planning session.
Basically, you're dropping the morale of a hastily assembled unit with no cohesive leader to keep everyone in line. It likely won't in the roleplay, but I think this would play havoc on the party cohesion.
Also, like every damn argument in this thread, what's to stop him from flying away once the bullets have stopped?

I agree with West's agreeing of my original plan.
xD
EDIT: Both Gareth and Travis seemed to have missed the point of "infiltration". You don't need to have conversations with the enemy or pretend to be part of the troupe, just get close enough to get on board without being sniped.

So far everyone has proven that they can keep their cool under gunfire. I really don't think the rain is going to be the breaking point. Besides, we're already walking three kilometers through it no matter what we do.

Which is why we utilize stealth to the best of our ability, and hopefully clear the outside without him realizing.
Failing that, the ship will need time to take off. We could probably get on board in that time. He's certainly not going to take off if a good chunk of his people are outside, unless he wants to have even
fewer
men. We also don't know whether or not he will be joining the fighting himself.

And how do you get do that? You can't just stroll in. You need to play the part, or be
really
good at stealth. We can't do the former and the latter is too hard for everyone to pull off, so it's easier to just quickly/quietly take everyone out and get inside before they realize what is going on.
Also, both Bridgett's and Travis's plans ultimately end up hanging the distraction group out to dry. I say that distracting them is a bad idea, period. Not only does that mean dividing our forces (when we are already such a small group), but it also notifying the enemy that we're in the area.
Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.
More people in a cramped space isn't nessicarily better, especially when you have characters like Bridgett who uses weapons that need open space in order to fight effectively, and the enemy are using weapons that can spray a corridor. Storming the bridge with numbers is just asking for casualties.
Depending on how they've set up the guard, I don't see why two people couldn't just sneak in. Keep in mind their duties do not include "watch out for the enemy among you", and they have their own jobs to do. So long as you don't draw attention to yourself and look like you're supposed to be there, nobody should question you.
If this were skyrim, or night time, I think crouching would have the sort of invisibility effect you seem to think it has. The only hope we have is if Inferi is nice enough to provide us with ample amounts of long grass to crawl though.
-Sigh- Maybe Gareth is right. We should perform recon and leave it for Inferi to sort out!

You know, West, I have never agreed with you more about temporal conversations. I don't even think I can make this post actually flow like it's not a list of bullet points.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.
