Yes, and see George's latest post for what my thoughts are on the situation as well.

You want a combat-capable individual for this story, you have to make one at the start. Nobody is going to be able to go from being unable to use any kind of weaponry to actually able to handle themselves in combat against the types of enemies in this kind of story during the course of it. It's just not a possibility. Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

If you want to post something, go ahead. I'm writing up something, but since inter-character stuff isn't something that I should be directing it's not something I really have to write for either.
