Awkward question: If I wanted to read ITF, where should I start and what should I know?
From the beginning, of course!
Just skip everything related to the Ogre Wars. That plot was cancelled, and it's about a third of the thread.
As for what you should know, I'll tell you the story of the two main groups as I remember them.
The Hagslayers:
The crew met in a village to join an expedition led by a Hagspawn named Etheldredda, who was on a quest to wipe out her coven. They were going to summon a creature known as the Hagfather - and they can only do this once every hundreds of years. It's the only way to produce more hags, and a lot of people end up getting killed when it happens, so they're trying to stop it.
They traveled a bit, and stopped at another village. Someone tried to summon the antagonist from the previous thread, but I saved the day, and we quickly moved on with the plot. We stopped at another village, then we entered a forest, and attacked the coven itself. We couldn't stop the summoning, unfortunately, so now Annie and I have to deal with everything.
---
The March of Darkness:
Soahc, the demi-god of chaos, has some sort of plan going on, and he's been raising his army of mercenaries, necromancers, cultists, bandits, and secondary antagonists. We marched with him, pillaged a few villages, and now we're being charged at BY A CENTAUR HORDE ON AN OPEN FIELD, NED!
*Ahem*
Anyways, that's happening.
---
There are some other subplots as well. A few characters left the group after that antagonist-summoning fiasco, and are now meeting various faces on the road. Inferi's mute angel met a Dwarf war hero, Annie's Judy met some annoying little shit on the road, and Guthix's character fled somewhere as well but I don't remember what he's up to.
One of my characters, Cirion, actually set out to fight the Army of Darkness directly, and is now on a quest to investigate Soahc's plans.

Oh, and there's another subplot revolving around Azi's undead dragon demon abomination. I think there's an organic one who wants to be human, and a mechanic one who wants to destroy the organic one, if I recall correctly.

Slight clarification: the events of Ogre Wars haven't been scrapped, just retconned to take place before the events of the other two plots. The 'ramifications' of what took place there will become clear as we move through the thread. Some characters that appeared there may reappear in the story yet, (I'm fairly certain that Inferi's Kat and Azi's Spirry shall turn up again at the very least.)
Hags be hagglin', gods be god damn crazy, it's all happening ogre at Into The Fire
