EDIT: Also, colourful personality trait kind of seems like a waste of time. I mean, why on earth would anyone pick a trait that allows them to pick one other trait?!
Seems to me that it's strictly a roleplaying aspect, although it does seem a bit unnecessary.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

It also prevents you from getting a trait in the future, so ultimately you lose.
Also, all the traits that only affect personality seem worthless.
If I want to be a bloodthirsty character why do I need a 'bloodthirsty' trait? My character isn't allowed to enjoy killing people if they don't have a trait?

If you look at it objectively, it's the same as saying a person can't shoot well if they don't have the "sniper" perk.
Also, the bottom of page 3 made me wonder if this was possible...

I disagree with this.
'Sniper' is a specific advantage that directly improves your combat performance.
'Bloodlust' is a personality quirk that forces your character to always kill their enemies, which in some cases might not be the best decision, and it doesn't make you better at killing your enemies either.

Not the best decision, you say? Well, I mean, if you murder ALL the witnesses, then it'll be like you never committed a crime... right?
In all seriousness, longevity should be the last thing on your mind in a life or death situation. Where a person who wouldn't have the trait would only see certain doom in the face of their demise, a person with Bloodlust would only see targets.
Take it for what you will, but depending on how it is used, it could definately be an advantage if we weren't all playing fearless sarcastic jerks.

What if her flames from her fingers at the mall? Then would she go to the special containment facility?
Why stop there? Why not burn down the mall, the town or a forest. Hell, why not start a wildfire and do all of the above? Burn the rescue crew while you're at it for bonus points. That'd definitely warrant a detention.
