I had a strange dream. Families awoke to vast amounts of smoke in their neighbourhood, but there was no fire in the area, the smoke came from a wildfire far away. Me and my family, and many other people, were conscripted by cops into some sort of riot police-like program. We were all taken out of our homes and ordered to walk to the establishment, having to brave the dense smoke everywhere, even climb over fences and walk through forests. The cops leading us were rather rude and commanding, like semi-drill sergeants.
Upon reaching the establishment, we were conscripted into the riot police-like force, but equipment was in limited quantity. There were things like batons, clubs, riot shields, makeshift equipment, and even "finger-slips": a kind of armor consisting of a single tiny sleeve worn over a finger, with the top reinforced with hard plastic or something to protect the fingernail. I also recall military helmets, one of which was too small for me, so I had to discard it.
I woke up just as the conscripts were sent to leave the establishment, ordered to go forth and oppress the enemies. The enemies were not revealed in my dream, but I think they were, apparently, primitive aliens on Earth somehow. I think the reason there were riot police conscripts was due to a severe emergency. We were led to canyons, I think.
It was a rather interesting dream, I recall having it some years ago.
