I've been on a few vessels before. Some have roomed staircases akin to building fire exits, while others have stairwells that drop directly from room to room. Also, do these stairs have flights? This might or might not directly impact Bridgett's strategy.

Plot armor only exists to a certain point. I have an actual reason you guys shouldn't be in extreme danger for right now, although that sorta goes out the window if you actually start a firefight.

Ok, let's see if I both understand this and can answer it correctly. If, by roomed staircases, you mean what is essentially the staircases isolated from the rest of the room by a wall around them, then no, that's not the case. The staircases have railings, obviously, but someone standing off to the side can see the entirety of them save for what the ceiling obscures. In terms of flights, it's one set of stairs - i.e. top to bottom it's in a single descending line - from the floor of the deck to the floor of the deck below. Like I said, at that point, it turns and descends down in the same way but the opposite direction, so it's multiple flights throughout the entirety of the ship but only one from each deck down to the next.

Does that make any sense at all?

... which I think would make a lot more sense, since Bridgett is evidentially hearing people come down the staircase before she sees them. Also, if I remember correctly, the upper deck is an observatory - a passenger area that the ship designers likely want to look pleasant and decorated.
