So, I'm bored, let me tell y'all about the Stronghammer company's chain of command, and how pay is distributed.
Captain
Role: Makes all the big decisions, leads the company in battle, decides who to recruit.
Pay: 2 shares.
Lieutenant
Role: Commands when the captain is incapable or unavailable, and leads the second half of the company should it ever need to be split in two. Officer.
Pay: 1.5 shares.
Quartermaster
Role: Arranges the purchasing of supplies, and distributes the pay. Records every transaction, and takes inventory of the supplies they currently have available. Still expected to fight in battle. Officer.
Pay: 1.5 shares.
Disciplinary Officer
Role: Punishes men who step out of line - can be anything from a stern lecture to a full-on whipping, but he needs the Captain's approval. Officer.
Pay: 1.5 shares.
Mage
Role: Anyone with formidable magical talent.
Pay: 1.25 shares.
Veteran
Role: Anyone who has been with the company for two years or more.
Pay: 1.2 shares (does not stack with the pay from other roles.)
Recruit
Role: The standard run of the mill, non-magical mercenary.
Pay: 1 share
It should be worth noting that Mages and Veterans, while higher ranking than Recruits, do not actually have any authority over them (although many will try to do this to gullible newcomers.)
Also, the pay distribution is not the same for all Mercenary companies. Stronghammer's Captain and Officer shares are on the low end, which is considered to be rather generous on their part.
I'll be adding this onto the Stronghammer Company thread, should anyone wish to reread it in the future. I was going to add it at some point, but it slipped my mind. You can obviously tell where your own characters stand. Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

This character design is just really cool so I wanted to try interpreting it! It was challenging, but a lot of fun!
