What Scuddlegirl drew is a two-handed maul,

I wouldn't call it a maul. Historically, a maul from the Middle Ages was basically a giant hammer made of lead, sometimes wielded by French knights on foot (possibly a proto-poleaxe).

In modern times, a maul is a kind of large axe, meant to split logs.

See you soon, Fishing.

It could also be a square mallet made of metal. Perfect for playing Whack-A-Mole with! =)
Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy! =)

Or that, yes. Indeed, very useful for smashing things with! I'd prefer a sledgehammer tho. Speaking of which, I have two sledgehammers, and a rail spike hammer, which I cut one side down to size with an angle grinder, so that I could forge it into an oversized war hammer! Unfortunately, despite heating the end red-hot, no matter how hard I struck it with my hammer, the freakin' metal refused to bend! I was surprised by how powerful and sturdy the metal was, even after angle grinding about 65% off one side, so that it was narrowed down.

There isn't really anything else involved. Let me explain.

The basis of Kalo's character concept was "small girl with a big hammer." Her general traits of being short and strong were similar to a dwarf, but her design went in a different direction. I considered making her some new race entirely, but it seemed silly to create something entirely different when her race would ultimately be very similar to races that exist anyway. In the end I decided that the halfling label fit her the best, but as opposed to the default halfling, she has none of their usual talents and contrarily has impressive physical strength instead. I debated using unconscious magic to explain that, but it seemed like an unnecessary touch when I could just as easily say "she's unusually strong."

So to summarize all that rambling, Kalo is sort of a convoluted amalgamation of the short races. As far as fighting abilities go, she's exactly what she appears to be - a small girl with a big hammer. Her vague past is entirely for plot and character development purposes with no connection to hidden strengths or abilities.

Sorry to have been so confusing. I would have asked beforehand if I had known these things were so important.

Anyways, if that's alright I'll try and get an intro post up soon.

Cheers!

Yeah it's fine. It just struck me as odd that you described her as frail, but then said she was perfectly capable of using the hammer anyways. You'd think she would be at least somewhat noticeably bulkier. But sure, I'll allow it.
