About copyright,
Copyright applies to commercial products; role-play is not a commercial product. Textually pretending to be something you are not, is not copyright infringement. If I textually pretend to be or cosplay as an Asari, that does not infringe BioWare's copyright. If I textually pretend to be or cosplay as Superman, that does not infringe Marvel's copyright. If I textually pretend to be or cosplay as Donald Trump, that does not infringe the President's rights. If I textually pretend to be or cosplay as a ghost, that does not disrespect the dead. If I textually reference or describe franchises or their content, that does not infringe copyright. Talking, texting, cosplaying, role-playing, and pretending about franchises is not copyright infringement.
Though, I suppose if you were to cosplay as Superman or some other character from a franchise, and get paid for it by a third party such as ad revenue, that could possibly be a violation of copyright.
