, if these are uplifted mortals, then it is to be presumed that some could have had a family before their ascension, right? I'm not very deep into your thread so you might be a few steps ahead of me, but are there any fables/cults/whatever formed around any children of mortals who went on to become gods? Most kings liked saying that they gained their right to rule from God, and a lot of the rulers of Greece liked to write fanfiction where they were the descendants of some demigod or other.
No living descendants of the gods are known. Yisu, Malis, Kalmar, Arenar, and Gleaf never had children. Helgi did have children before she ascended, but she always left them with their fathers and ran off without even giving her name. Many of Rorak's descendants went on to become successful chieftans, but they were killed in a Goblin slave rebellion that was orchestrated by Yisu, although the rebellion itself ultimately failed. Arenar had the descendants of Drakus and Zhang assassinated, though this isn't publicly known.
Fortunately, each god has their own afterlife where they can visit their families and followers whenever they want, so they tend to either forgive or forget after a few hundred years.
And mortals who falsely claim they are descended from gods are usually punished harshly.
However, there have been frequent examples throughout Echion's history where gods gave leaders/champions their blessing.

: God of Flame, Light and Redemption. Formerly a Human.
The Redemption part is interesting. I'm not sure about the Flame/Light thing, since this is more about human nature than actual nature. Now I know Gleaf does represent actual nature, but his main thing is peace, and he just so happened to advocate protecting the wildlife.

All this talk of gods has me thinking, and I kinda have some vague semblance of a thread based on the idea. Basically what I have is a spin on the modern powers genre, wherein we would all be gods who have to "re-earn" our godhood almost by being stripped of all but the most minor of our abilities and having to complete certain challenges in a city setting. Obviously I dunno if I have time to even do something like this but I dunno it seems like it could be something small enough to not require a ton of dedication if that makes sense?
What I mean by most minor of abilities is like, for example, if you were the god of pestilence and you could lay whole armies to waste with a deadly plague now you can barely muster the energy to give someone a common cold. Thoughts?
