About Magnulfus,
In fantasy, it's rather common for characters who are cursed to revert to a ''normal'' state, at least after their curse is defeated in some way, often via death. Magnulfus is based on fairy-tale-like themes, which I thought would be easy to promulgate. The purpose of a role-play is to create an adventure and story together.
Magnulfus is monstrous and gigantic despite being only 17 due to aging as fast as a wolf, so despite being young compared to humans, 17's an obvious elder in canine years. Most wolves cannot even reach the age of 17 (most wolves naturally die within ten years), so Magnulfus is the equivalent of an animal soon to die of old age. Thus, when he dies, either through violence or age, he reverts back to a human state: as a teenager.
About retardation,
After ten posts Annie, you were unable to clarify what you were talking about? I have called mentally handicapped people retards, and none of them were offended by it, but often giggled from it. I was good friends with three or four people who had significant mental disabilities, and none of them were offended by the word retard. This is what I experienced in my real life from elementary school to high school. The idea that people who have mental problems are suicidally sensitive is a myth. I also have mental problems, and I'm basically never offended.
The only people who find ''retard'' offensive, from my experience, are people who think they have mental problems, but are actually just extremely immature. Immaturity is not a mental problem, some people are just naturally childish, but are often knowledgeable and fun people. Michael Jackson was a very immature man, but a great artist and performer, with a big heart, but his juvenile behaviour did lead him to doing some really silly things. Thus, this is my view on this subject.
