OK, my sci-fi thread is up and ready. I will be adding a few bios as examples soon. The thread has minimal storytelling, so it will progress as users submit their application or describe their character. The thread only has about five posts worth of content to read, so it's quite easy and simple to read and understand. I included a picture from Imgur to showcase the ship, to make things easy to see.

The AI Babylon calls people by their name.

Capturing people is illegal, so that would not be done in ISX ENTERPRISE. Instead of capturing people, the bio labs can simply grow their own specimen in a test tube, which is easier, cheaper, faster (to start), and legal.

What's a good population for the tribe to have?

I'm thinking 600.

Then again, the naval crew of a single ship can consist of hundreds of men. I'm not sure how I feel about the tribesmen being outnumbered by one captain's forces alone.

But also then again, the natives are meant to use sneaky ambush tactics and their superior knowledge of the terrain. Also, the ships' full crews aren't going to be setting foot on the beach: many will be left behind to attend to the ship, and defend it in case any of the rival ships try to attack.
