It's my turn to post in Broken World. I would have done it last night, but I went to replying emails to my friend, a friend who does not spam or lie.
I am interested in this colonial-esque RP. Real-life history should not bother a user from participating in such an RP.
Hm, I think that simple RPs seem to get the most attention quickly. I was thinking of such an RP, a simple, classic, but story-driven RP. It can start with a very big galleon sailing in a stormy ocean, of which users happen to be passengers sailing to the New World for a better life, adventure, mercenary work, tourism, searching for a family member, is a prisoner, a slave rower, or anything else the user wishes. This RP will be medieval to steampunk.
The ship is then attacked by something powerful, forcing all users to "intro" their character upon this attack, such as the user running out one's room, being pulled out the window and forced to swim, the wall gets broken open, or what have you.
The sailors are getting killed, and the galleon eventually sinks or is destroyed, forcing the users to swim/unconsciously wash ashore of a mysterious island. Other users/NPCs wash ashore at other parts of the island, and future users may intro in that manner. This island happens to have things like ancient ruins, ancient monsters, demons, and various quests to help the diverse inhabitants.
