Y'know, I may actually go ahead and create that colonial era RP I talked about earlier. But I need at least four people.
In case you missed the explanation:
It's set in a fictional world that consists mostly of a few small continents and hundreds of islands. There are three main nations who are competing for control of the seas, and have had several wars on and off throughout the last century or so.
One day, on a tiny tropical island that has usually been ignored due to the hostile natives that reside there, a strange beam of light shoots up into the sky, and can be seen for miles around. Those three nations each have naval bases or ports within the area, and they each dispatch one captain, each commanding a couple of ships, to secure the island and investigate the temple at any cost.
Meanwhile, the tribe living on that island believes it is their sacred duty to defend the island to their dying breath.
Three people will play the roles of the captains, trying to claim the prize for their respective nations. The fourth player will play the natives, trying to defend the island against the aggressors.
Anyone else who joins will have a smaller role: they control a lone ship not necessarily affiliated with either side (a merchant, privateer, pirate, explorer, etc.) that is also drawn to the light, or simply passing by. They ally with one of the three captains or another independent ship, scheme to take whatever is in the temple for themselves, or even side if the natives if they really want to; it's up to them.
Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.
