Why the hate between the Lore community and the Role Players?
The lore forum is not the best place, to be honest. I've been by there a few times, and discussions are quick to turn hostile. One person called me delusional because my interpretation of Zaros was different from hers (even though she supported Zaros herself.) She kept saying "that makes no sense" if she thought something I said contradicted itself, even though it didn't if you actually thought about it, and she just kept saying "Explain, explain, explain!" without providing any points herself.
And a lot of them seem to forget that this whole god conflict is supposed to be morally grey, and somehow act like they are more righteous or superior to everyone else. Maybe they are roleplaying as religious zealots and don't like the competition?
TL;DR: the lore forum has not been kind to me.

You'd be salty too if the only important characters you have to talk about have a life expectancy measured in quests. I mean, Ozan is as likely to die in the upcomming menaphos quest as Saradomin is going to further blunder our already bottom of the barrel expectations of him in his next quest.

If they kill another Signature Hero I will be severely disappointed. Ariane and Ozan need to stick around, at least. I will shed no tears if Raptor or Owen die.

I honestly don't know how his supporters can stomach him. Either they have no expectations, or their expectations are so high that Saradomin's actions are so far on the opposite end of the spectrum that they somehow collide, break the system, and net a positive outcome in the eyes of his player followers, while his NPC followers are bombarded with propaganda that they accept without question.
I'm just saying. The dude ripped off an Icyene's wings because she refused to fight in his army - or at least, that is what I read on the wiki. We're talking Bandos levels of wrath here. At least Zaros and Zamorak don't kill and/or torture people just for the hell of it.

Question: What do you guys think about murder thrillers, and do you think it could work for a RP concept?
Hm, that could be cool, but honestly, I was not really interested in modern concepts, but it might be a cool idea.
Oh my, kids arguing vehemently about fantasy beings or concepts? Quite silly. Too often, fanboys of certain characters seem to take different opinions as threats, as a differing opinion forces them to think, and thinking makes them upset.
Anyways, West, I love your recent post in SB, but I gtg to school soon, but I'll be back later to continue the RP. See ya'll soon.
It's because Saradomin is the only character we see actively doing stuff, regardless of whether we're there or not. Yes, he blunders... a lot - but think about it. If everything is as morally grey as you've previously said, are the other gods hands really so clean? Or, just maybe, the other gods simply play nice in front of the World Guardian.
In keeping with that, I think that ironically the most deceitful unbearable asshole of a god is in fact the most truthful. That's why I like to follow him - do you want a president/prime minister who sits around and says pretty things, or someone who doesn't always understand the hard line but actually does something about it?
We know in the second age that one could do practically whatever they liked in the Zarosian empire, so long as they possessed power. Sure, it was the closest thing they had to a utopia at the time, but it was the sort of place where people could disappear without record. And based on evidence we're seeing a couple thousand years later, this apparently happened quite often.
...
Also, Ozan is the World Guardian's friend - a good one at that. Name one friend the World Guardian has that has survived their quest series? (I'm not going to start naming names, but if you're looking for a feature character in Gielinor, you're going to be sorely disappointed). Not even gods are exempt, doomed from the moment they meet us. It's a good thing this is a comedy plot, because most video game characters would have fell into depression long before now.

The sad fact is, some people have to be dicks because they "have the god given right". I don't even say anything to them, instead just laying my own thoughts and explanations on a plate and leaving it at that. No point arguing with someone straight out of Amy's Baking Company.
