Hahaha, I hadn't considered the time-keeping aspect, although it would be an interesting story mechanic. Maybe if something like it gets implemented, it'd be more like George's suggestion of everyone getting buffs at the same time. That's easier to keep track of because you can just say "Okay y'all it's full moon now have fun". :P

I'm curious as to whether or not there will be significant timeskips on a regular basis. You know, skipping ahead a week or so and explaining how things progressed. Definitely saves us having to describe each and every person we turn to the wolf/bat/light/??? side. I am Inferi.

Yeah, I was wondering that myself. Like it'd be fun to describe the first or second time, or with PCs, but I would rather say "Aly, over the course of the week, grew her numbers by 4 new vamps" rather than needlessly turning like 4 people in a single day (threads that don't make it clear how much is happening in a small period of time are confusing). Like, remember that one rendition of SilverMoon where a PC got turned into a vamp, half the campus was trying to kill the other half, rules were being broken left and right, and it was still somehow the first day pf class? Yeah. I don't want that again. :P

One of the main problems with Sandbox threads is that the moment something even remotely interesting happens, every other player immediately rushes to shoehorn their character into the action, like sharks drawn to blood. It's like a Roleplaying Feeding Frenzy, or something.

I remember in that Silvermoon Thread a guy got angry because his character wasn't allowed to carry a small highly explosive metal ball around. Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

Hahaha, I had two characters in that thread. One of them had exactly no impact on anything, and the other turned your character immediately after rescuing yours and Semper's characters. Oh yeah, and then the guy who tried to literally rip my door off the hinges because you had a little cut and was bleeding only slightly.

Honestly, everything on that thread was just way too crazy and over the top. It's part of why I left it shortly after my character was turned. I mean, I just wanted my character to become a vampire and suddenly the school erupts into civil war.

Of course, it didn't help that everyone was doing everything in broad daylight.

As for how I'm going to handle my thread, there will be periodic timeskips. We'll start off with the first few days where characters gather recruits and learn to use their powers. Then I'll timeskip a few weeks so everyone has a decent-sized team going, and some of the early battles may start to break out. After that, timeskips will be based on how much progress the thread is making.

If there is a fight between three leaders in the middle of the street within the first ten pages, I will be extremely disappointed.

...And my character was surprisingly reasonable for a scarred mute girl who ruthlessly hunted beasties disguised as students. I mean, she didn't whip out a silver sword and start hacking confirmed vampires/werewolves, she just... Splashed a little holy water on them until they ran away. She'd find them when night fell.

I imagine it will take some time for our leaders to really focus on the little voice in their head telling them what's what, or rather to feel like they actually need to do something about those other leaders the voice seems to hate so much.
