Anyways, I've been around since April 1, 2004, seeing as my account became ten years old in April 1, 2014. Contrary to the age of my account, I've only PKed three people, I don't have a single skill at 99, and I am unremarkable in everything. I do have Mining and Smithing at 85 though.

You haven't logged in recently, then. True Pking is dead and between the SOF treasure hunter promotions and the constant tiered xp and anti-grind grind, skills have become MUCH easier to level within short periods of time.

It's this kind of thing that REALLY pulls the breaks on any potential Runescape thread (of my devising). I mean, lore and game play are just so segregated by this point its silly - For example, should I just hand out Nex and God Swords to every adventurer, while the Varrock Guard can barely afford to outfit and maintain their soldiers with silver and steel gear? Could a person become a master of their craft by spending a weekend at the bank?

(To be fair, it did take Max a few weeks to master invention.)

Yeah, well, RuneScape has lost the thrill of adventure and danger. In my opinion, every noob area should have at least one aggressive significantly stronger monster, who when killed makes all minor NPCs relating to one's faction attack the player, to encourage co-operation of players. Everything is just too convenient and easy. Faction-based NPCs, like those warbands in the wildy or whatever, would make the casual playing more dynamic and active.

Oh, and I will try to get a bio for Daralt City.

In the world of Roleplaying, I'm basically pre-orders - getting you to purchase a product before it is even complete.

Of course, you aren't actually purchasing anything, but the point still stands.

I'll try to get the thread finished today. Promise.

Anyways, since people are already making bios, I will quickly mention technology:

Black powder has been invented by the Sorusians, although it is taking its time to spread, and since many of the natives of Maphis have inferior technology, there isn't a huge demand for it in the colony. Daralt has some cannons, and many (but not all) of the guards carry pistols, but ammunition is expensive.

I take it the guards have match-lock or flint-lock pistols then? Ammunition would just be a lead ball, or even a small lead block chiseled from a narrow bar of lead as often done in the Middle East. I think a better reason would be a limited number of gunsmiths, due to the emergence of firearms rather recent.

The Fifth age didn't really have factions though, all major human settlements are Saradominist. I mean, could you imagine Varrock Guards checking Grand Exchange for heathens back in 2008?

(Actually, that sounds like Darkscape. Good times. :P )

EDIT: Firearms advances may be recent in our timeline, but who's to say someone couldn't have invented an alternate (now redundant) method of improving what they have in a fantasy timeline? I mean, there are several races on the same continent - diversity of ideas probably would not be an issue (unless the fire nation attacks).

Pistols are flintlock.

Daralt has no lead mines, so it all has to be shipped in. But yeah, lack of gunsmiths would also be an issue - they'd all be back on the Sorusian Continent. There's more of a market there.

Anyways, the specifics aren't that important. The point is that guns and their ammunition are expensive and not widely available.

No.

There's only one God Sword, and people shouldn't even have the opportunity to ever fight for it until you're at least 1000 posts deep into the thread. Bronze armour is common, iron armour is good and steel armour is for the wealthy elite- any ores beyond that are pretty much legendary and can slice and dice plenty of people.

No Grand Exchange, no Lodestones, no Gods walking the earth. You start from the first day of year 169 of the Fifth Age, so exactly as a noob joining Runescape for the first time, none of the quests have yet to start. People can follow the quests if they want to, or do their own thing, or enjoy the freedom of partaking in a quest and then completely derailing it for their own purposes/joining forces with the bad guys/whatever.

That... That is my dream [wipes eye]
