Runes met flesh as Tash smashed together another water blast to fire at his draconic opponent. The foe simply stood still and let the blast impact his body straight on. This caused a sense of doubt in Tash's mind. Regardless of the spell it was generally never a good idea to let one hit you, yet this man had not even flinched. The floor had become damp and the sloshing of feet could be heard approaching Tash.
A leathery hand gripped firmly onto Tash's collar and lifted him from the ground. "I guess I forgot something else to inform you about this material I wear." The dragon man extended his arm that was holding Tash forward and released him. "The dragon-hide like substance works great at nullifying magical power." He let loose another flurry of fire spells directed at Tash as he skidded to a halt on the cold, ash covered ground. There was little time to react, so he once more dropped to the earth face down to try and avoid any deadly blows. "I don't understand why you continue to dodge; you’re going to die eventually."
The magic cleared and Tash bolted upwards to make a move first. In his hands he held a number of earth, air, and chaos runes. His enemy commenced a slow pace walk towards Tash from down the corridor. In a flash Tash's hands met the ceiling at a slanted angle heading to the advancing menace. A crack raced through the rock and soon broke into a collection of pieces tumbling down to block the path.

"I can only hope that will hold him," Tash murmured. His hopes shattered as beams of light started to show through the holes between the rocks. A wave of fire the size of the cavern itself engulfed the rocks and torched them all to ash. "Oh yeah...he can do that." Once the soot cleared from the air space Tash was seized by a hand on his chest and carried off backwards. His entire body was in the air and flying out of the cave at increasingly swift speeds. He could see that the dragon mage had released his wings to a certain extant to be able to fly efficiently and had Tash in his grasp.
"Although I clearly have the advantage down here, I can't stand fighting in this cramped space." The mage glanced down to Tash who was held tightly in his hand. The time it took to walk through the cave was significantly greater than the time it took to fly, and in what seemed like only seconds light was already starting to pour into the abyss. The mage watched Tash move his hand towards the satchel strapped to the back of his waist. "Well that won't do. I can't have you shooting little magic blasts at me; even if they will prove ineffective." He reached around Tash with his free hand and tore the satchel from his belt then dropped it to the floor as they flew past.
The exit to the surface was now above them, and the dragon man took a sharp curve upwards to emerge from the dark crevice into the night sky. He laughed menacingly as he kept on soaring vertically through the open air. He halted his ascent roughly two hundred feet up from the ground, and steadily patted up and down with his wings. "I must say, you were a very fun opponent, but I must end this here. Have a good trip," the mage said comically as he released his grip on Tash’s shirt to let him plummet back down to the earth.

It took every ounce of Tash's courage and thought power to keep from breaking into a state of panic as he felt his clothing be freed as well as his body. He was without any runes to soften the landing and was high enough up to surely land with a sickening crunch. His mind acted without a second thought and moved his right hand to the doubled bladed axe on his waist. With the weapon now in his hand he lowered it behind him then brought it back up with his right index finger pressed down on a button concealed on the handle. The button caused the axe head to be discharged from the handle and wind upwards into the sky. It remained attached to the handle via a small but powerful looking chain that must have been hidden inside the handle. Luckily, the gap between Tash and the dragon mage had not gotten too large and the axe reached the dark figure hovering in the air. Courtesy of the angle which Tash had swung the axe with it circled around the flying man's body and dug into his side.
Tash's descent had been stalled and his chance for a counter attack had presented itself. He scrambled up the chain with both hands like a monkey on a vine; the whole while both Tash and his foe had been steadily drifting downwards from the added weight on the man's wings. Before the enemy had time to react Tash was upon him with a hand on his orange and white colored sword. He leapt from the chain to the man's back between his wings. He raised his unsheathed sword above his head and brought it back down through the dragon hide covered back of his adversary piercing through both his back and chest.
"I failed to acknowledge your potential in melee combat," muttered the wounded man while his wings ceased to flap.

Tash left no time to spare and immediately removed the sword from where it impaled his opponent. Then he moved to rip and unwind the axe from the man's side. The ground was coming up fast. Tash looked to a nearby tree, and using the axe like a grappling hook swung it at one the protruding branches much like he had done previously. He clenched firmly onto the axe's chain as his feet left his previous platform. From his hanging spot on the tree he watched the man twirl in the air and crash down on the solid ground with his chest facing upwards. Tash sighed and slid down the chain to the forest floor then yanked the axe head free from the branch. He looked over to his deceased enemy lying crumpled in the grass, and walked over to him.
"I haven't the faintest clue as to how you came to possess the skin from a dragon's wing, or how you managed to sew it into an outfit with this sort of magical caliber, but I do know that this was a truly monumental battle for me." Tash peered at the outstretched wings on the man's back. "Looks like that fall broke them. What a pity. I wanted to try them out." He tilted his head back to gaze at the moonlit sky. The moon and the stars looked much better from the close up view he had only moments ago. "Well I guess I should dispose of the body and get back to camp. Hopefully that man, Rich, will have more missions like this one. I could get used to this sort of thing."
