Hearing the voice of Ria the prince turned his gaze towards her, seeming a tad bemused for a second before apparently coming to a realization - raising his hands as a show of peace even as he pressed on to speak, making to reply before others could jump in on what he had said as well.
"My words were not intended as an accusation that everyone has been lying, dear Ria. I speak from both what I know and what I don't know; what I do know is that I have yet to witness the reincarnation of a soul, none have soared into a pregnant belly to take root while I have been present at least, but that does not itself disprove anything,"
He replied, pressing to ease some of the difficulties his words may spark in his siblings. But he had more to say.
"What else I do know is that father's soul was not where it should have been, and that he feared what followed his death - my takeaway is that these things are connected, that father knew his soul was not in place, and thus he would either not reincarnate or believed there was something more to it than what we know."
It reiterated his thoughts from before, but pushed on further to address what was likely the largest concern of blasphemy.
"Now we move on to what I don't know; whether we truly do reincarnate when we die. None alive can know for certain, only believe, for it is only when we pass on that it takes place - and as one alive who has seen that souls are real and do go somewhere when death comes, I know that something occurs, but do not yet understand what. Could reincarnation be the truth of life after death? Most certainly. So too could it not be, I simply do not know until I have seen it."
He settled back, all too aware he had gotten them sidetracked with his careless words.
"I think my tangent has sidetracked us from the point of this meeting, however. My apologies."
