I just read an article that is something similar to above.
They used a simple chimpanzee and attached five nural transmitters to his outer skull, since the average chimpanzee's mind is only 25% the intelligence capacity of the average kindegartener, it was easier to hi-jack his nerves.
They did by injecting small doses of radation into his upper spine and brain, this affected how it worked and started the virtual reality process. The process worked for about six seconds before the radiation died off and the chimpanzee went to its normal state.
WHere did the chimpanzee go when he went into virtual reality? Scientists physcially programmed to go into a simple white box with a small green hill, this was extremely complicated, but its a step.
If they did manage to succeed in creating a virtual world, how do you know they would base it off Runespace? We could send letters and suggest it...but there's no way of knowing for sure.
