Although whatever this thing was seemed to have the same moment of surprise that she did, it was he that acted first, although not before uttering two words in what appeared to be sorrow. That alone was enough to let her know that it had some kind of emotions, unless of course it was faking them. That seemed unlikely, though, especially given the nearly immediate charge in her direction.
Still, it was a bit odd. Most, if not all, of the vampire hunters that she had been forced to kill in the past had shown only anger, not seeing her apparent age as anything worth noting. What this meant, she really wasn’t sure, but it wasn’t the normal confrontation that she was used to having.
Unfortunately, there wasn’t time for too much musing. His charge was unmistakably strong, her experience in combat letting her know something simple like that almost instantly. This man, if that is what he was, was no novice. It was also clear he possessed a great deal of strength and personal power, although the blood covering him already told her that. She knew little more than that, however, and therefore felt it would be inopportune to move in without knowing the extent of his strength.
Her response, therefore, was not offensive.
Enhancement, agility. Minor.
was her mental activation, bringing forth a small boost to her own speed and maneuverability. With that brought forth, she dashed forward, slipping under the incoming sword charge and past her opponent. She did not intend to run, but she did want to see how he reacted, and so once past him she spun back around, eyes fully on her opponent as she came to a halt.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.
