calmer than he truly felt. Perhaps he could learn something about his situation if the fight continued to be prolonged. " Do you know how the royal family fares? I would return to their side, once free of this craven den - and your ilk slain. "

Hadrian didn't press the attack - not this time. Instead, he waited for his opponent to make their move, shifting into a fresh stance - to intercept and strike should she attempt a similar tactic as her last two passes, or even to strike head on. With only one sword it was always more difficult, but he was a knight of Sudovia - all trained in the use of the sword. Merely because he preferred to wield two did not mean he had forgotten his training with only one.

Erik

He and the Orc would soon stumble upon a few unwary but rather well-equipped Vampires who made their way up the stairs.

Erik’s brow furrowed as he looked at Zurga, “Are Vampires really this naive during a siege?” he whispered.

Amidst the eavesdrop, Erik took a mental note of Sakura. His spine shivered.

“Sakura is also here? She will doom us all…”

There were mentions of Lexius, son of Balta. Balta, however, fed her pets elsewhere. These were the names of two formidable Vampires, but they were not here. Whatever pets she had, could be a problem.

“I’ll go first!” Erik whispered. He gripped his axe by the bottom and top of the shaft. He would carefully and quietly go towards the stairs. Just before the Vampires came into view, he would sally and bash the centre of the shaft sideways into the fist Vampire’s head while he put his body weight into it. Whilst the axe was in motion, he would slide his hands down the shaft and swing to and fro into the heads of his foes, so that his height and higher elevation further up the stairs could be exploited.

If his plan went well, he would overpower the Vampires and soon acquire more gear. If the Vampires were of stronger resolve, he would nonetheless face them with great vigor.

This wasn’t quite bad, but neither was it good. Along with the fact that he seemed nearly unphased by a strike that would have sent any human she had ever fought to a knee, even if only for a second, he did not bleed as he should have. Lia knew her own capabilities as well as what should happen when someone was attacked, and nothing of what had just transpired was something that was supposed to have transpired. Whatever this opponent was, he wasn’t something she had faced before, and that he was so deep into the vampire stronghold just made it even more dangerous.

However, he also seemed unsure of what had happened himself, as if this was new. Was he some new creation, some weapon attempted to level the playing field? If so, it was an excellent start, at least in her experienced eyes. Yet she doubted that, since something in her mind vaguely remember a man who looked like this being dragged in a short while ago. If he had been a prisoner, they had at least thought he was human...but had that been a plot by the humans too? Centuries of failure made her doubt they had come up with a plan like this now, though.

That feeling was reinforced by what he said next...or would have been, had she actually been able to analyze it properly. Instead, she was left staring at him with a mixture of disbelief and anger. He sounded so matter-of-fact about it, like he was so sure everything was going to happen just as he said, and that made her furious. Nobody had even bothered to mention the royal family in centuries, and now here was some relic that had to be from the past tearing open wounds that she would much rather remain closed.

If you want to return to their side, you’ve got one option: die.
” she told him, eyes blazing with fury, although that fury did not seem to be directed at him. It was simply projected outwards, and he just happened to be the only one around to witness it.

Burning every piece of garbage in this world won’t bring centuries-dead humans back.

Similar to her opponent, she did not lower her guard, but also in the same fashion she did not move to strike. This was both due to the fact that this conversation was making her wonder if this could possibly be used to advantage and the fact that she was beginning to realize that she was not the one in the advantageous position here. Corridors were too confining for the type of combat that she was strong in, and with an opponent that was clearly on her level in terms of sheer power with a style that seemed to work better in these confined quarters it wasn’t something she wanted to bet her life on.

Annie felt really scared still as she looked at Antonius and when he started to answer her. She finally got brave enough to say,"Nice to meet you Antonius. My name is Annie." She was grateful for the apple and the carrot that Antonius gave her. She ate the apple and the carrot, enjoying the taste of the food.

As she ate the apple and the carrot, she listened to Antonius talk. She replied in a calm voice,” Yes she did. I understand that it won’t cut it. But she wanted me to be safe before I found you. ” She nodded when he talk about the sword she should have and talked about Vyras that he is old because he threw out his back again trying to lift it.

Then the man who must be Vyras came up and started talking to Antonius. She laugh as they talking about Vyras being old. Vyras told Antonius that she needed to be trained. She agreed with him about that. Then Vyras have challenged her to use her arrows to shoot jugs full of blood to destroy it. She replied to him,” You got it. Just so you know my name is Annie.”

She took her bow from her back. As she put her hands on the bow, she was able to fix her bow to make it brand new because of her nature power. Then she put her an arrow on her bow. She started to shoot at the jar of blood and was able to hit each jar and broke them.

Lexius sat behind a desk in his chambers. He had a hangover; “Too much bloodwine,” he decided. Bloodwine… fermented blood and alcohol. It was his drink of choice; but now he had too much. Other vampires scoffed at him drinking bloodwine instead of presiding over the defense of the castle. That was going to change. Sitting in front of him, but in his direction were his two retainers: Lord Hakkon and Lord Sven.

Sven had long blonde hair, and a blond goatee red eyes and pale white skin he stood a towering 6’8 and was monstrously muscular. As far as vampires go, Sven only recently became one… 300 years ago. Hailing from Svairdia, Sven came as a mercenary and ambushed Lexius with a company of Svairdian mercenaries. Killing everyone except for Lexius. Lexius took on every single mercenary alone and won, even Sven. Sven went up against him one-on-one with his morningstar.

Lexius fought against Sven with his claymore. The two were evenly matched. Until Lexius used his dirty tricks and threw a powder at him making him easier to mesmorize, then he did just that. Entranced him in a trance-like state, and forced him to drink Lexius’ blood; similar to what he did to Lia. As a vampire, Sven recently charmed his mother enough to provide Lexius with him as his retainer.- A slap in the face of the one who turned him. The move was seen as an insult by Lexius, who never really got along with her, even though he loved her. While Lexius had no respect for Sven, he had the utmost respect for his other retainer, Hakkon.

Hakkon was much shorter than Sven, at 5’11. He had long jet black hair, red eyes, ashen gray skin, and wore a ridiuclous orange and pink outfit that announced his authority. Which fit well with Hakkon’s personality, he was thouroughly ridiculous he held an large battle axe made of iron.

Hakkon shared Lexius’ passion for women, wine, and cruelty. Though unlike Lexius, Hakkon also liked the men. When they still lived on Sanguinos, Lexius and Hakkon were always seen in the slave market purchasing female slaves to force themselves on. Hakkon also bought men but not as often as women. On occasions, Lexius and Hakkon forced themselves on the same woman. Wherever Lexius was, so was Hakkon.

“Gentlemen. I have orders for you.” Lexius began. The woman he brutalized was still with him. She was avoiding eye-contact out of fear. He held her by the chain leash as he spoke.

“Oh, you have orders for Sven?” Sven asked “So glad you finally came to your senses, brat!”

Lexius was irritated by Sven’s impudence, but kept his urge to wring out Sven’ neck in check since he was under his mother’s employ, not his. If he fired Sven, his mother would just rehire him. “Yes, Sven, orders. I want you to follow Lia up to the prisons on the Northwest side of the castle. Keep an eye on her as she checks on the prisoners.”

“What’s this about, My liege?” Hakkon asked. “Rumors have been questioning her loyalty, since she isn’t defending the castle” Sven informed Hakkon. “Ridiculous.” Hakkon began “She’s just an unwilling tool. She’s always had a hard time accepting her condition.”

Lexius looked at Hakkon. “You’re taking her side, Hakkon?” Hakkon nodded. “To an extent, my lord. What she needs is someone watching out for her. Someone who is friendly to her. She shelters herself in her quarters at all times. Perhaps a friendly visitor every now and again. There is a catch though; if she is indeed turning traitor, then we will deal with her.”

“I say we just kill her and be done with it. She is a Sudovian Princess, so her loyalty will always be in question.” Sven added. Lexius nodded at Sven’s suggestion, even though he despised Sven. “Unfortunately, mother has strict rules with murdering another vampire, if you find any evidence that she’s turned traitor, Sven, you can kill her, and act as my witness; you are after all, the retainer my mother forced on me; she’ll trust you over Hakkon.” Suddenly the door opened, a messenger vampire came in huffing. “Sir” more huffs “A… duel”

“Messenger, I hope you have good reason for interrupting a meeting.” Hakkon warned “Nonsense, Hakkon, messengers always have good reason to interrupt meeting." Sven chastised. "Go on, messenger, tell us” The messenger took a few moments to catch his breath, irritating Hakkon, and amusing Sven. After several long seconds, the messenger had caught his breath. “Lia and some blood soaked human have engaged in a duel on the balcony nearest to the rooftop dungeons, they appear to be evenly matched, and the human left a trail of dead bodies”

“WHAT! An intruder? This deep into the castle? Hakkon furrowed a brow “See, Lexius, she’s no traitor.” Hakkon said teasingly. Sven scoffed “Could be an ellaborate ruse.” Hakkon laughed at Sven “ How so, Sven?”

“She’s doing this to lull us into false sense of security, then… betrayal, treason, murder.”

“If this is a ruse, here’s your chance to help her out or strike her down.” Lexius told Sven. he turned to Hakkon. “Same with you, Hakkon, if you are convinced of her innocence, then you should go help her out. You may see yourselves out." Lexius finished.

Lia

The duel between Lia and Hadrian had drawn quite a crowd, vampires, their slaves, Everyone in that crowd had forgotten a minute ago that they were hissing “Traitor” at her and were now cheering for Lia, or so it seemed, Suspicion of the slaves, who were silent, had it that they were secretly cheering for Hadrian. Instatantly bets were cast as to who would win. A few vampires tried to join in the fight, but they were pushed back. Each of them being told of the dead bodies in the chamber behind Hadrian.

Each strike on Hadrian provoked cheers from the crowd; conversely, each strike on Lia from Hadrian provoked aggravating taunts, and blaring boos of disaproval. It was in the midst of this crowd that Hakkon and Sven arrived to watch. Buttng their way through the crowd, the two vampire officials dressed in ridiculous pink and orange fineries to watch Lia recognized Hakkon, who smiled at her. Lia prefered Hakkon over Lexius because Hakkon was always nice to her.

She had no idea who the massive blonde haired vampire was, but something told her she wouldn’t like him, for he stared at her with icy, hateful eyes. The eyes of a murderer.
