Mallus:

Climbing up the mountain pass would be hard work, perhaps it was the terrain that was the reason Metras failed in his father's genocidal task, fighting uphill was not easy, but Fengh Pass is also treacherous for another reason: It's runs through wyvern territory. the pass itself is rarely traveled by the draconic beasts, but the mountains around it are usually swarming with wyverns flying around the top of the mountain, looking for prey.

The climb up was excruciating, but as he did so, statues of fallen drowish heroes came into view. One of which was General Vygr an old mer with grey hair, and a silver goatee, his wrinkles around his eyes were expertly carved onto the marble face. Vygr led the defense, and ordered the boulders pushed down, though he also took an arrow to the face when he did so and died in the comforts of his tent.

A controversial drow, he also sent down those boulders onto his own men. despite their protests. He did not care and stubbornly had two dissenters executed by throwing them off the mountain face to their deaths. His orders were: Defend no matter the cost. Four-hundred drow were flattened by boulders, though many more humans were crushed.

Some of the larger boulders that were used in that battle were still visible, caked in a thin layer of snow, though the centuries of frosting and thawing have weathered away the rock slightly. Today among the drow, there is debate as to whether Vygr's actions during the battle were justified. Plenty of drow veterans wanted his corpse resurrected to be placed on trial for multiple counts of murder, but the Grand Council decided against it, ruling the ends justified the means, Even going to far as to build statues of the old mer for his heroism, many want those statues torn down, there are five of them, one placed every four hundred meters from the base of the mountain to the top. Other statues of heroes of the battle were also placed. None are as hotly debated as Vygr's.

-Castle Gern-

Castle Gern had become a ruin. The area around it was now a wasteland of burnt trees, and it was only with the torrential rains that the wildfire sparked by Vyras even began to die down. Vyras, and those with him, had completely devasted the castle. It was an intolerable situation...

-

Lexius’ head was pounding, and all he could remember was being piss drunk, celebrating his 9,000th birthday, and then everything else went dark. He awoke in a small cell. There was something else. Something he had forgotten. Something BIG had happened, and it irritated him that he had forgotten it. Was it his escapade with one of the slaves? He remembered a slave telling him that he impregnated her. It wasn't the first slave he had done that to. "Well whatever happened, happened. Come to think of it, why am I in a cell?” Lexius asked himself, he walked up to the cell door.

The rain had made the cell block slippery. The pounding rain further irritating Lexius’ screaming headache. He attempted to open his cell door, only to find that he was locked in. There was also the rolling sound, of something in the aisle, and a lanky Vergas going cell door to cell door. "Must be the slop drudge" he told himself. It’s scratchy voice irritated Lexius, who attempted to rip the cell door off its hinges. He had the strength to do so, only the cell door remained in place. He enveloped himself in shadows and attempted to slip under the door crack. No luck. The cell door encased itself in white light, blocking his attempt to escape. Lexius was trapped.

“What did I do last night," Lexius asked himself. He opened the flap to his iron cell door. Where he saw the cell block in ruins. The walls had been destroyed by large boulders, and Lexius understood “OH, we were ATTACKED last night! NOW I remember!” he said out loud, “But why am I in a cell?” he asked himself. He had a feeling something bad was about to happen to him.”

The rolling sound became louder and louder. It further irritated Lexius’ howling headache. Finally the rolling stopped, and Lexius’ iron cell door opened. Outside his cell was a large cauldron on wheels, and a skinny, hunch-backed vergas with red eyes wearing a bloodstained chef’s hat, and nothing else. Spatters of dried blood covered his grey skin. Purvinas was also the cell-block’s torturer. That meant Lexius was in Cell block 3, where the political prisoners were held.

The vergas’ long nails were caked in dry blood, and he smelled like death. Evidently, the smell of his food rubbed off on him. His long fangs were covered in blood. His breath stank just as bad as his food. Evidently, he liked his cooking whereas nobody else did. Lexius knew this vergas. “Purvinas!” Lexius exclaimed. “Master Lexius, well I guess “master” no longer applies, since you are going on trial.” Purvinas said solemnly. “Trial?” Lexius asked stupendously. “Yes. Trial,” Purvinas explained “For incompetence in the face of the enemy. I am to give you your meal before you head up to the Council chambers for trial. I hear the other councilors want you executed, Vykdyti is swaying opinion against you. Executed? KEEEHEEE! We’ll see what Balta has in mind!” Purvinas mused.

Lexius was dumbstruck. Vykdyti was moving against him again and with surprising speed. What better way of getting rid of the potential heir to the Gern throne? Power struggles in Clan Gern happen with increased frequency now that Tingus, the man who is supposed to be the one ruling the clan has gone completely mad. Purvinas opened the cauldron lid, the smell was overwhelmingly bad. Purvinas’ slop was the most disgusting food in Sudovia, in Lexius’ opinion. The smell was a disgusting mixture of rancid scent of rotten eggs, spoiled Lethornian epoisse cheese, rotten tomatoes, decaying meat and spoiled vegetables. Purvinas scooped some slop out onto a plate, and handed it to Lexius, who could barely hold his stomach in.

Annie saw the cliff that they were about to climb and saw Shatterbrains take out the equipment for the climb. It made her nervous but, was going to climb no matter what to save those children.

She listened to directions that Shatterbrains gave them, The question that was asked, The answer to that question and the comment from Belar. She replied to Belar,” I agree with Belar. We need to save those children.” She was ready to climb.

Erik

Once everyone was ready, Erik opened the hatch, expecting the beast to emerge, step on the trap, then promptly be assailed by many attacks. Erik would attempt to thrust his shield over the beast’s face while slashing and its legs--assuming it would be possible to engage in such a manner.

Sakura

Lensa took her through the mess hall and into the infirmary. Would they see Vyras?

Mallus

He ventured unto the pass, sometimes glancing at the skies for wyverns.

- Vykdyti’s Spy tower

Aside from a gigantic hole from where a boulder had smashed a hole through the side of the stone tower, Vykdyti’s spytower was neat and in order, the explosion smear from earlier had been cleaned up by slaves, and all the scrolls that were blown over from the explosion were neatly stacked on Vykdyti’s desk. Vykdyti, a thoroughly organized person had spent the morning filing the scrolls away at her desk, where she was currently. Suddenly the door opened and outside the door was the red-haired vampire who attacked Erik. Having gauged the strength of the warlord, the vampire spy, and her “offspring” Arvis were stood at attention at Vykdyti’s desk as was standard of a meeting between boss and subordinate.

Vykdyti, was used to all-nighters, and she rarely slept. Weary as she was from the night before, she believed that if she slept, important matters would escape her attention. Standing at attention was her subordinate, Morta, and next to Morta was her “offspring.” Arvis. “Morta!” Vykdyti shouted, “Have you gauged the fighting strength of the Naktians? Vykdyti asked. “Pitifully weak, the warlord I tested didn’t pose much of a challenge by himself. It’s as if the barbarians of the north haven’t even heard of archery. He just charged. It was his companions that kept me at bay, and even then, I managed to turn their archer into one of us.” Morta explained “Finding them was relatively easy, all I had to do was follow the elves to the cathedral. Blasted building, why haven’t we torn it down?”

“We tried that once, the building is very sturdy, and the priests put up quite the struggle defending it you’d need to get inside the cathedral itself, we have something in mind.” Vykdyti explained. Morta scratched her head. Morta was only paying half-attention to her boss. As she looked around the building, she noticed that Lexius was not in the tower like usual. Her thoughts turned to her obsession. “Where’s Lexius?”

Morta asked, Vykdyti furrowed her brow.

“Morta, you are aware of the political situation in the castle, yes?” Vykdyti asked, worried for her subordinate. Morta shooke her head. “He’s been jailed for his incompetence during the siege. I wouldn’t associate with him at this time, you may invoke the wrath of the queen.” Morta’s face went paler than usual “I’d die for him you know,” Morta said defiantly. Vykdyti knew that Morta fell hard for Lexius over one or two conversations with the man. To Vykdyti, this was pathetic. How anyone could fall in love with Lexius was beyond her. She kept her true thoughts to herself.

“Yet he feels nothing for you. I’m not sure Lexius understands the concept of love. He’s also higher status than you, so keep your head on straight.” Morta did not want an argument with her superior “Yes ma’am… One more thing. It’s about the Naktians’ lookout…” Vykdyti furrowed her brow “What about him?” She asked. “He’s a pureblooded vampire, though certainly not one of ours,” Vykdyti took a deep breath.

“That makes our plans more difficult, why would a pureblooded vampire involve himself with the Naktians? You’re sure?” Vykdyti said, confused. Morta nodded “I could sense it all the way from the road.” Vykdyti knew what Morta meant. All lesser vampires can sense a pureblood, It’s a survival instinct. Detecting the presence of a pureblood forces most lesser vampires to conform to rigid social structures and traditions. The violation of which meant certain death, in some cases. “Perhaps feeding on the fighters within?” Morta surmised. Vykdyti was not the one to rely on guesswork. “The only true friend a spy has is knowledge. I’ll dig up what I can on their lookout. You on the other hand, are going to our staging area in Vilnius to purchase services…”

Annie:

Belar put on the gloves and the boots and began the ascent up the rugged cave wall. Lowering her night vision, she could see that the cavern was very, very dark "How good is this dragon's night vision?" She asked. "Very good" Shatterbrains said, "But he lacks a sense of smell. He can spot prey in the darkest darkness from up to ten miles away, but he can't smell worth shit, and he has good hearing."

Belar resigned herself for a possible confrontation " How far is the climb up to the lair" "It's not that high up, it's the approach that is key, a dislodged stone will awaken the creature and cause it to look around." Shatterbrains said

Kunigas scoffed looked, he was thirty feet up without any climbing equipment, which he also scoffed at. Kunigas was looking down towards the others."You slowpokes are all the way down there, still? There's a reason I used to be called "Spider Priest," He pointed to a few loose rocks " Mind those rocks, they're looser than you think." He said before continuing his climb.

Annie started to climb the cliff with everyone else. She was scared about the climb but she was not going to let her fear hold her back. She listen to the conversation. She had nothing to say in the conversation at the moment and focus on the climb. She was surprised that she wasn’t that slow in the climb. -Dances-

Malus:

Sandwiched by an extremely narrow path through the rocky gulley, the pass itself was not comfortable to move in. Had Metras made it up the mountain, he would have faced heavy resistance, as the path through the narrow path made a natural chokepoint. Fengh Pass was, and still is a natural defensive point that can, and most likely will be used as such.

As Mallus moved through the path, he came across a pack of wyverns. Juveniles, but still dangerous, and with deadly poison. They were feasting on a unicorn, Once hunted to near extinction by the Sudovians for their blood, unicorns were now more frequently encountered. Though feasting on the unicorn, the kill must have been a new kill, there was plenty of meat.

((If Malus was up to the task, he could kill the wyverns, extract the blood, either to sell for passage to sea, or to concoct healing potions with the help of an herbalist. Wyvern meat is quite delicious too.))
