Lia’s actions were entirely fueled by rage still, and that did not bode well for the vampires that chose to get between her and her target. After the initial connection, where she would have been at least a bit more wary about her opponent, several of them thought it would be a good idea to get involved, and they quickly found out that this was a terrible idea. The first one she brought up a blade and sliced off the hand that was trying to bring the weapon towards her before driving the other into the vampire’s neck and then ripping the blade upwards and tearing the vampire’s head in two.
The second one didn’t seem to get the idea, either, and tried to follow up with an attack of their own. This one met an arguably worse end as Lia grabbed the wrist, ripped the arm from the vampire, and then hit their head so hard with the severed arm that the skull collapsed and brain matter exploded out the back. It quickly became apparent to everyone around that her normal tactical fighting was not present here, or at least not very much. It was instead replaced with almost primal motions, but with the speed and power of her motions greatly enhanced from normal.
The shadow-spear would have been simple enough to dodge, but in her current mental state Lia didn’t choose to do that. Instead, she deflected it, taking it on the outer side of her left gauntlet and pushing it out and away as she pushed past it. As for the incoming strike from the axe, she took that head-on as well, intending to intercept and strike through it with both of her blades. If Sven put all of his strength into hitting her, then the clash of weapons would likely be too much for either of them to take, and they might be left without intact weapons.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.
