Sin glances in the direction of the one responsible for adding a little extra filth to the sea's surface, the only other movement being the twitch of her ears before she turns to watch the Captain kick the mast in silence. Her expression impassive, it is still clear she thinks this is a stupid thing to do.

Uttering only a faint exhale, she follows towards the cabin, her vibrant green eyes shifting from the Captain to the stranger. Whether she is curious or not, it fails to show. Perhaps she is just that unintelligent. Who knows?

The stricken sight of both Havoc and Annie when they noticed the ghost brought a dark amusement to Hraldmir, albeit he hid it well behind his beard. Whether the name given was the one the phantom had when alive or one she had taken on since death the dwarf didn't know, but this Aia was quickly proving to be something of a reasonable soul - that could easily change, but for now he felt no malice from her.

" Aia it is then, " He replied with a nod, beginning to say more when the sound of another voice shouted from above - followed sharply by a ringing bell. He turned his head towards the galley door, eyes flickering across to where Annie had started muttering greetings to herself as if the captain was stood before her. It must have been some kind of nervous tic, the child already sounded nervous enough to pass out at any moment! Hraldmir stepped towards the door, inclining his head to the phantom. " If that's the captain then I'll need words with him before cast-off, we'll have to speak more later, miss. "

With that the dwarf left the galley, finding his way through the underbelly of the ship to emerge back on deck. Immediately upon stepping out into the cool air three figures stood across, one an unusual masked man, another an elf with a foreboding feeling to her and the last - more importantly - a figure that Hraldmir had heard described numerous times over the last couple of weeks; Captain Otodus.

He walked across the deck towards them.

" You must be Captain Otodus then, " He called on approach, failing to hear the captain questioning the masked man. " It's been a blasted pain to get a chance to speak with you, but I've a proposition. " Only after that did Hraldmir stop not far from them, eyeing the trio with varying amounts of curiosity - and for the elf a slight glare. " If you've a moment, of course. "

Groshub

Groshub's large eyes widened slightly when he saw a new figure step aboard the dock, as everything came together in his mind. When that tall, hunched figure then turned and called out to him, there was no doubt as to who it was.

Captain Odotus. A man Groshub had served under, and on a few occasions fought against, over the years. Personally, Groshub liked to think that the good memories outweighed the bad. He had heard rumours that the captain was in town, and had considered seeking him out, and now seemed to have stumbled across him by sheer coincidence.

He pulled down his mask and hood, revealing his features. "Oi, bossman!" he called out, as he crossed the gangplank and boarded the ship. It was then that his rancid odour struck the rest of the crew with the force of a decaying skunk. The elf and the half-elf amongst them would bear the worst of it, their refined senses making them especially vulnerable. "I 'ear you're lookin' for a crew!?"

Havoc's nose wrinkles slightly. He fills a pan of water and tosses a few precious cinnamon sticks in there to simmer. It's hard to tell if the heavy new scent of spices makes things better or worse. "Is that the grubby kobold from the docks?" he murmurs, noticing the strange hooded figure is no longer visible through the porthole.

Havoc, always full of quaint terms of endearment, seems to be using words like 'goblin' and 'kobold' more metaphorically to mean a mysterious little creature. This was, of course, her meaning all along, since she has no reason to suspect the new arrival to be anything other than a very smelly masked human or dwarf.

Annie knew what Hraldmir wanted to talk to the captain about. She was afraid that the captain would agree that she should not be on this trip. She needed to prove that she belong here like everyone else. -Dances-

"Ay, lass, if the smell of the sea starts to get to you, I've herbs in my bag to guard against miasma. If you know the way of a needle, maybe you can stitch a mask for yourself over the next few..." Havoc glances back and notices Annie's unease, and that Hraldmir has gone.

She chews her lower lip in thought. "Actually... while you're sittin' about, lass, why don't you do old Havoc a favor? I could use a quick pair of hands cleanin' out the chickens' cages a-fore we cast off." She leans out the doorway and points. "Should be some fresh straw down in the stores along that way."

"Cap'n Otodus, aye, that's what I be," agreed the captain, having been addressed by the dwarf. "I can assure you, pain hasn't been shy to find me neither." He regarded the dwarf up and down, black eye taking in every detail of this new individual whilst his white eye stared aimlessly towards the horizon.

"I'm often in the mood to be propositioned," Otodus confided. "Is this to be a private affair?" He gestured towards the cabin quarters, should it be needed. "I fin-" he paused, opening and closing his mouth, wet lips smacking together. A look of sheer disgust rankled his wretched features as an unmistakable scent permeated the air.

"West of west they don't smell best, but loyalty's not to be sniffed at," the captain recited to himself, as though a line from some half forgotten song. Turning about, he saw what he had smelt mere moments ago - the old seadog, Groshub. The last time they'd met, the western goblin had added two new scars to the captain's flank, but his presence seemed here of a more friendly countenance.

"These days, the crew tends to find me," Otodus remarked. "But a veteran seaman will be much in need. I've cast my sails to the ethereal, and allowed the gales of the stars to take the helm. This crew ain't seagoers, yet the rivers of time have brought them downstream to me. Aye, come aboard! Your knowledge shall be second to one."

Glancing back towards the door that led into the crew quarters, where Havoc and Annie were still below deck in the galley, the captain frowned. Fishing out a flintlock pistol, he fired it off at the bell next to the door, brass making a loud boooong , in the hopes of summoning them to him.

Mercy listened, enraptured, as the captain spoke of seafaring. He clearly loved it, probably more than he could ever love another person. She almost didn’t notice when he left the room, so lost in her imagination was she.

Wait. No one cleared him to leave. Ms. Cole thought, glancing out the window and realizing he was speaking to the strange elf she’d noticed a few times. The young nurse decided against chasing after him, despite his condition. She knew, somewhere in her heart, that he wouldn’t come back to the hospital and continue healing. He was dead-set on returning to his ship, and some little nurse could never convince him otherwise.

Still, she excused herself for the rest of the day, telling the other hospital staff that she wasn’t feeling well and had to go home. There, she looked at her supplies. Nothing remotely dangerous, nothing that could be used as a weapon. Of course, she thought, I don’t know what I expected. I shouldn’t even be considering this.

Still, the young woman grabbed a small leather knapsack. She slipped some sewing needles and several spools of thread into it. She also slid a few coins into it. Nothing quite so rich as to upset her family’s ability to sustain themselves. Just the meager savings she had from the hospital. It would be enough to buy a dagger of good strength from the market. She’d have to deal with learning how to use it later. Finally, she slid a few vials of medicines into one of the pockets in the bag. If she was really doing this, Mercy wanted to come equipped with the one thing she thought she could offer to the crew.

Mercy headed out toward the market. It certainly wasn’t the first time she headed to market, but it felt strangely final. She hadn’t even decided to join the crew. Why did she feel like she wouldn’t be returning here?

Havoc's hand shoots for the carving knife as she hears the shot—then instead grabs the pan of greens and removes them from heat, as if this was her intention all along. "Well, naught for it, then. C'mon, then, lass. The honorable Captain Otodus requests our presence." She cracks her knuckles and leaves the galley to climb back abovedeck.

"The best of mornings to you, Captain!" they call, again giving the river salute. "Beggin' your pardon, but I wasn't wantin' to all of us swarm you when you'd only just got back from the house."

Havoc has known the Captain for all of about three days, the nights of which her subconscious did its very best to disrupt Otodus's slumber—Havoc does not dream peacefully, nor quietly. She was an eager conversation partner by day, though, clearly fascinated by the differences between piracy nautical and riparian. She offered her services promptly as a cook, outlining her succinct terms, and since then seems to have decided she can simply enter the galley and start cooking without asking first.

Annie listened to Havoc talking. She was about to leave to do a chore for Havoc but then she heard a gun shot on a bell. That’s when Havoc Told her that the captain need to see them. She followed Havoc and they both found the captain. She said trying to stay calm as possible,”Yes Captain sir?” -Dances-
