SUMMER, DAY 11
Okay, so I didn’t bleed out last night.
So... I guess if you broke into my home last night somehow, and found this diary, and read the last entry, you don't have to worry anymore about taking care of the chickens and stuff. I got it. Assuming you didn't already do it, and if you did, thanks! I think. But I don't think it's very likely. It'd also be really weird for you to get the chance to read this thank-you, so, um, okay, nevermin
It still hurts really bad. I hope I don’t die because of a misunderstanding. Dumb infections. I carved a crutch out of the dead tree growing outside for the time being. Hobbling around like this, I'd be easy prey, so I'm trying to finish my outside errands quicker than usual and skipping my sunrise walks.
The chickens were making a huge ruckus this morning. I went out into the mist but didn’t see the cause of it. Bella and Fairy were fine; I think Nautilus was the one who started the commotion. She’s so jumpy. But most people are, this high up in the Wildy. People get nervous. Their heads get wild. They start seeing blades in the grass and bows in the trees. Most people spend their whole time up here scared out of their minds—and they head down south as quick as their legs can bear them.
Not me, though.
I'm still here.
