24 – Karamja
we're right, yeah
we're free, yeah
we'll fight, yeah
you'll see, yeah
oh we're not gonna take it
no, we ain't gonna take it
oh we're not gonna take it anymore
-Twisted Sister
By the time Zezima's glider came into sight, the sun was just beginning its descent towards the western horizon. Billy313 watched along with the rest of the hunting party as the contraption came closer, its broad canvas-covered frame rising and falling with the thermals produced by the ocean.
Billy313:If I know Zezima, he's going to make his entry showy.
Gollum2:Yea, he usually does.
Yet Icarus, or so Zezima had named the glider, maintained a steady course for the Karamja landing pad. It was not until the flyer was close enough that one could make out the figure dangling from it that the first signs that something was amiss became apparent. A sharp gust of wind hit the device and it tilted crazily, veering southwards, something large falling off of it in the process and splashing into the roiling seas below. Gasps arose from the hunting party as they wondered if Zezima had fallen off, but a few seconds later it was seen that a person was still clinging grimly to the bottom of the glider.
Genocide456:Must have been provisions.
Gollum2:Yea
Yet something was still wrong. Instead of leveling out and heading for the landing strip once more, the glider kept to its southward course, tilting in the wind as though Zezima had lost control.
The elitists hurried along Karamja's beach muttering to each other. Had Zezima somehow lost consciousness?
Only Billy313 stayed.
The glider was leaning heavily now, first to one side then the other, like a top that was loosing its initial momentum. By the time it disappeared behind a fold of land far to the south of the designated landing spot, it was actually spiralling, and what Billy313 guessed were Zezima'* legs were being flung out into the air as it twisted. Then it was gone, hidden by Karamja's coastline.
