Voldemort:Not without Zezima’s consent.
Zezima:Sure, throw him out.
Voldemort spun on Zezima.
Voldemort:What?
Zezima:Throw him out, he’s giving me a headache.
(g)Numanuma3:Really?
He stepped forward eagerly.
Voldemort:But Zezima, I’ve always been faithful and –
And the door opened, letting Starwarfan0 into the room. Glancing at the advancing (g)Numanuma3 and Voldemort, who was reaching for a dagger at his side he almost stepped back out again but then made up his mind and entered, closing the door behind him. Full dragon armor covered his body.
Starwarfan0:You pmed me?
Voldemort immediately latched onto his comrade.
Voldemort:Starwar, we can double team (g)Numanuma3.
Zezima sensed this wasn’t going anywhere good.
Zezima:Nvm, Voldemort can stay.
(g)Numanuma3, who had been readying himself for a two-on-one battle, stepped backward quickly to a place where he could watch the elitists and be ready if anything suspicious happened.
Zezima:And Starwarfan, you can listen too.
*ezima:I think I can trust everyone in this room.
Voldemort:Lol, I knew you were joking.
Zezima:Just be quiet.
Voldemort :O k.
Starwarfan0:So what’s going on here?
Voldemort :O , Zezima’s going to tell us what happened to him.
(g)Numanuma3:It was elitists wasn’* it?
Zezima:Yeah, how’d you know?
(g)Numanuma3:We’ve had reports,
(g)Numanuma3:Weapons have been stolen from our holds, and there have been some…deaths.
Zezima :D eaths?
(g)Numanuma3 seemed to enjoy displaying his superior knowledge on this topic and shot a glance in Voldemort’s direction who smiled lazily back at him.
(g)Numanuma3:Yeah, mostly generals or members of higher status.
(g)Numanuma3:They go for a walk on the battlements and the next day
(g)Numanuma3:Someone finds them smashed at the foot of the wall
(g)Numanuma3 :O r they just disappear.
Zezima:And you’ve done nothing to prevent this?
(g)Numanuma3:Well we have sentries on the walls…
(g)Numanuma3:And generals select their personal bodyguards

(g)Numanuma3:But if the guards do the killing…
(g)Numanuma3:What would you have me do?
Zezima:I don’t know.
Zezima looked at Starwarfan0 and Voldemort, both of which didn’t seemed very shocked by the discussion. Did they already know of these occurrences?
Zezima:But anyway, I know two of them,
Zezima:Evilzoe and…
Zezima:And a guy with a maul.
Zezima:I don’t think I ever saw his name.
Voldemort:Lol, two elitists owned you?
Zezima:Four actually, I killed a mage and Veracker.
Voldemort :O .
Voldemort:Still
Zezima:I’m not invincible you know.
Voldemort:Yeah, but you’re Zezima
Zezima:What worries me is this wasn’t the first time my own people tried to kill me.
Starwarfan0:It wasn’t?
Zezima:No, returning from Karamja I got shot down by chasing elitist gliders
Zezima:And crashed onto Entrana where -
Voldemort:Where you were muted by the mods, lol.
Zezima:Yes, where I was muted.
Starwarfan0:I haven’t seen a mod in a long time.
Voldemort:Lol, you wouldn’t have.
Voldemort:I think they retreated to Entrana during the second rebellion,
Voldemort:Got sick of this whole war stuff.
(g)Numanuma3 still seemed stuck on Voldemort’s first statement.
(g)Numanuma3:You were muted?
That seemed to genuinely surprise **manuma3. He looked around the room and saw that no one else seemed to find this fact as mind-bending as he did. Zezima noticed that the pile of money over the fireplace had disappeared. But a few seconds later an almost unnoticeable side door in the wall near the huge hearth opened and a maid entered the room, quickly assembling a new pile of coins where the old ones had been.
Voldemort:He was, you should have been there.
Voldemort:Lol, he was sullen
(g)Numanuma3:From a noob?
Zezima:Yeah, he –
But Voldemort broke in quickly.
Voldemort:You be quiet about Varrock and I’ll be quiet, ok?
Zezima :D idn’t you promise that a little while ago?
Voldemort:Well I mean it now.
Zezima:K

(g)Numanuma3:Voldy got beaten by a noob?
A broad smile stretched across (g)Numanuma3’s face as he tried to read Voldemort’* expression.
Voldemort:No.
Zezima:Nvm.
Zezima:Anyway I want everyone to locate these traitors.
Zezima :P erhaps if you find Evilzoe we can track the rest down from there.
Voldemort:I’m on it.
Voldemort:Along with finding Texan85 of course.
(g)Numanuma3:Who is this Texan85?
Voldemort:No one.
Voldemort :O h yeah, and we should hear Starwar’s report on the noobs.
Suddenly everyone’s attention turned to Starwarfan0 who looked around blankly for a second before remembering his news.
Starwarfan0 :O h! The noobs are going to be coming up here soon.
Zezima:I thought they would,
Zezima:What’s holding them up?
Voldemort:No, I mean tell them about your escape.
Starwarfan0 :O h, that
Starwar***0:Yes, that was quite…interesting.
He looked at Zezima.
Starwarfan0:I guess the last time you saw me I was heading down into the sewers.
(g)Numanuma3:Sewers?
Starwarfan0 :O , you weren’t there.
Starwarfan0:Well it’s a long story but somehow all three of us
He indicated Zezima, Voldemort and himself.
Starwarfan0:Got caught in Varrock with the noob army coming in after having suffered a defeat.
Starwarfan0:There was no other way to escape than to make a dash for the Varrock gates
Starwarfan0:Straight through the noob army.
(g)Numanuma3:Interesting.
Starwarfan0:Stop talking.
Starwarfan0:Anyway, I didn’t have much prayer and my hp fell dangerously low
Starwarfan0:I dove for the sewers with a few hundred noobs on my tail,
Starwarfan0:Just barely made it in.
Starwarfan0:I guess Zezima and Voldemort made it out of the city…
Voldemort:Yeah, the noobs were too distracted with you.
Starwarfan0 :O
Starwarfan0:Anyway there I was, dressed in full black dragonhide
Starwarfan0:Armed with rune throwing knives.
Starwarfan0:And the noobs all trying to force themselves down the pothole behind me

Starwarfan0:So I ran down into the sewers thinking of escaping at the Edgeville entrance,
Starwarfan0:But it seemed some of the noobs were smarter and had run
Starwarfan0:Up to Edgeville to cut me off.
Starwarfan0:I backtracked and tried heading down to the hill-giant training area
Starwarfan0:But I could hear the sounds of noobs training there by the time I reached the hobgoblins
Starwarfan0:In that chamber with the addy ores.
Starwarfan0:Well there were noobs coming from the north, noobs to the south
Starwarfan0:And my health was very low, like 6-7 hp.
Starwarfan0:So I decided to disguise myself and hoped they wouldn’t notice me
Starwarfan0:It was all I could think of.
He took a deep breath.
Starwarfan0:And it worked.
Starwarfan0:I took off all my armor, unequipped my throwing knife
Starwarfan0:And stood next to the ores trying to look like a noob
Starwarfan0:The first few came sprinting around the corner and I asked
Starwarfan0: ‘How do I pick up these rocks?’
Starwarfan0:The noobs all laughed and I tried to make myself look serious
A smile crossed Starwarfan0’s face.
Starwarfan0:I said ‘I want some addy!’
Starwarfan0:And they replied ‘lol, have you seen someone in black
Starwarfan0:dragonhide armor go past?’
Starwarfan0:I said ‘a black dragon?’
Starwarfan0:And they just shook their heads, said ‘come with us’
Starwarfan0:And ran down to the giant-training spot.
Starwarfan0 :O ne thing I can commend noobs on is they try to be better,
Starwarfan0:They led me back to Varrock where they enrolled me in
Starwarfan0:A kind of class where skilled noobs taught
Starwarfan0:Beginners about basic Runescape skills.
Starwarfan0:All this time I didn’t dare pm you guys,
Starwarfan0:I was afraid some noobs had me on their friend lists.
Starwarfan0:It would have given me away.
Starwarfan0:So, I stayed in Varrock as the noobs tried to perform
Starwarfan0:A sneak attack on Lumbridge

Starwarfan0:And I was there when they came back and a meeting was announced,
Starwarfan0:Both Ratherdashng and Cheezit92 would speak.
Zezima:So Cheezit92 is still alive?
Starwarfan0:Just wait.
Starwarfan0:The noob leaders bickered about the lost battle up on the podium,
Starwarfan0:And just for fun I yelled out ‘fight!’
Starwarfan0:Suddenly thousands of noobs were chanting it,
Starwarfan0: ‘Fight!’, ‘Fight!’, and the leaders agreed to a duel.
Starwarfan0:They decided to take it up into the Wilderness.
Starwarfan0:To Zezima Isle, and from there the winner would
Starwarfan0:Lead the noobs to the mage arena.
Starwarfan0 :O n the way up I was finally able to escape, so I don’t know
Starwarfan0:Which noob leader survived the duel,
Starwarfan0:But they should be heading up here anytime now.
He finished and all of the elitists sat a while, thinking. The pile of coins disappeared again and a maid was soon on hand to replace them.
Zezima:What are their numbers?
Starwarfan0 :O h, thousands. I have no idea.
Zezima:And you’re sure they’re coming here?
Starwarfan0:Yep
Voldemort:You should write a book on your adventures.
(g)Numanuma3:So the final battle is near?
Starwarfan0:I think so. They had plans of gathering all their troops
Starwarfan0:In an all-or-nothing attack on this outpost.
Zezima:And we must beat them.
(g)Numanuma3:I’m sure we will, but with numbers like theirs…
(g)Numanuma3:Well it’s going to be tricky.
(g)Numanuma3:Noobs are too unpredictable.
Zezima:Yes, and this means we must work hard
Zezima:To eradicate the false elitists.
Zezima:If one were to open a door during the noob invasion…
(g)Numanuma3 :D on’t worry, I’ll locate this Evilzoe and question her.
(g)Numanuma3:After that the rest shouldn’t be hard to find.
(g)Numanuma3 :O nly pure elitists will be left in this arena when the battle comes.
Zezima:Great.
Zezima:Also, if the noobs are gathering their forces, I think we should mobilize ours too.

Zezima:Maybe get A(g)zraeleterni and whoever else up here.
Voldemort:But leave a token force in Lumbridge of course.
Zezima :O f course.
No one else seemed to have anything else to add and a minute of awkward silence in which each tried to judge what the others were thinking followed. Then Starwarfan0 left and Voldemort exited soonafter. (g)Numanuma3 stayed a little longer and seemed about to open his mouth and speak at one point but then decided against it and left *swell. Zezima sat alone and tenderly lifted the blanket to look at his chest.
He was dressed in a sleeping suit. A light green one. About his chest a large swath of bandage had been wound, another around his left leg. Both were rigid with dried blood. Looking at them made them itch and he quickly covered himself with the blanket once more.
Why were elitists suddenly attacking each other? -he wondered. Well, maybe it wasn’t that sudden. There had always been stories of assassinations circulating about the elitist army. Many had reached higher positions through such means. But why were there so many of them now? Texan85 telling him that his army was crumbling flashed into his mind again.
Anyone could be an assassin. That’s what scared Zezima most. Could he really trust anybody? Well, Voldemort. But anyone else? Did he really know Starwarfan0 that well? Had (g)Numanuma3 changed since the times they had gone pking together?
He had to trust some people he decided. Or else his army would truly fall apart. With that thought in mind, he slowly slipped back into sleep. It was nice to finally get a good day’* rest.
Within a few hours, elitist scouts had located Evilzoe along with the mauler. Their bodies had been disposed of unceremoniously by the fence that bordered the upper Wilderness.

67 – Marching

In deep dark stone the Grogg doth dwell,
Encircled by the darkest hell,
Above him with a thousand eyes,
Ratherdashng’s armies rise.

A livid halo of fire glowed fitfully about the crown of the island, a larger version of the one that blazed about Ratherdashng’s head. He stood stoically, one hand resting languidly on the crystalline hilt of his sword, the other hung limply at his side. Before him the volcanic island coughed up a stream of rebels, most ashy in the darkness except for the few whose heads flared like cinders and all floating randomly out of the isle’s center and across the bridge spanning the magma moat to settle in crooked lines on the other side. Everything was packed. Everything was ready.
And then the last of the rebels had exited and it was the outcast’s turn to climb out. They separated themselves from the noobs, forming strict lines of spikes and polished armor that glittered like stars in the blackness. Baa Bleety appeared, her dragon armor a deep shade of violet, and joined Ratherdashng. The two stood silently and listened to the creak of oiled joints, the soft murmur of the troops, the susurrus of the wind. A crescent moon watched the procession from the sky, casting its pale energy on the gathering. Ratherdashng wasn’t sure why he had chosen to leave Zezima Isle in the night, it just seemed right.
Baa Bleety:I forgot to congratulate you on your victory.
Her face was a ball of shadow with two glistening pinpricks for eyes. A cape of unintelligible color whisped against her legs.
Ratherdashng:It wasn’t my victory
Baa Bleety:True, but knowing you…
Her amused tone implied a smile beneath that shadowy veil. Ratherdashng knew what she was thinking.
Ratherdashng:I didn’t hire Discollama2
Baa Bleety:No? He killed his leader of his own accord?
It did seem a bit too perfect. In fact, Ratherdashng wondered why he hadn’t thought of employing Discollama2.

That man had singlehandedly stopped a clash of the rebel armies. No one blamed Ratherdashng for Cheezit92’s death, no one had seen the dagger. But everyone had seen the arrow. And Discollama2 had just stood there, stupidly holding his bow and peering out at Grogg’s pit until an angry mob had turned on him. It had been difficult for Ratherdashng to stop Discollama2 from being ripped apart by his own people and giving him a proper execution.
Discollama2 had been aiming for him, Ratherdashng believed.
Ratherdashng:Yes, of his own accord
Baa Bleety:Lol, very thrifty Ratherdashng
Baa Bleety:Very thrifty.
Finally the last of the troops creaked their way up the ladder and went to join the masses which hung about the island, a murder of men and women facing earnestly inwards, waiting for a command. Ratherdashng’s army really did look pitiful when stood next to Baa Bleety’s. He would have to give them some tips on armor maintenance.
Baa Bleety:You want to do the honors?
Ratherdashng:Sure
Fire whipped backwards from his head as he took a step forward. He wished he had a cape.
Ratherdashng:Rebels!
A strong wind dispersed his shout among the crowds.
Ratherdashng:Rebels!
Ratherdashng:I too was sad to see Cheezit92 fall
That rang true. Cheezit92 had been likable in a nooby way but had never possessed the skills to manage an army. His reign had been fraught with mistakes, mistakes that Ratherdashng now sought to rectify.
Ratherdashng :O ne of his own people laid the finishing blow,
Ratherdashng:I hope none of you shall ever resort to such savagery
Ratherdashng:We are leaving tonight to finish an eon long battle,
Ratherdashng:Yes there have been rebellions before this,
Ratherdashng:Yes the noobs have lost,
Ratherdashng:But now we have the numbers, the unity, the determination,
Ratherdashng:To take the Wilderness, the chief elitist stronghold
Ratherdashng:And end this infernal subordination once and for all!

A cheer rose from the noobs, an almagamating cry in the midst of the deserted landscape that stretched to the horizon on every side.
Ratherdashng:No longer do we stand divided,
Ratherdashng:I will lead you all with our allies the outcasts
A few grumbles rose from the crowd at this statement.
Ratherdashng:And we shall win!
More lively shouts.
Ratherdashng:Remember our beliefs must fuel our anger,
Ratherdashng:Hone it razor-sharp
Ratherdashng:We have the moral high ground
Ratherdashng:We are in the right
Ratherdashng:Fight for our freedom from oppression,
Ratherdashng:Fight to your last breath,
Ratherdashng:And the elitists stand no chance.
That last part had been planned with help from Baa Bleety.
Ratherdashng:Now march!
A final exuberant exclamation came from the noobs and Ratherdashng could see the purpose fill their eyes, feel it prickle in the air about him. A horn sounded near the front of the army, a great AWUUUUUuuuu… that blared outwards, fading into silence. Another time the horn sang and then the drums started. Their incessant t(cen)hrobs kept beat from the front of the procession, the orchestral section Baa Bleety had arranged for the march. ‘A hunter needs some means by which to keep its flock in line’ she had explained. Line by line the two armies combined into one, each person becoming a cog in a giant machine that began its slow undulation northwards. Ratherdashng shook his head as he watched his rebels step out of the beats which the drummers kept. Then, realizing that Baa Bleety was no longer beside him, he hurried to find his place amongst a group of generals at the rear of the procession.
What would become known as the Final March had begun.

68 – Destiny and Destruction

“Is there a method to my madness?”

Anesthesic smells drafted about Mr. Happy, making his skin tingle. He hadn’t felt air blowing against him for a long time. It was something that didn’t happen very often in the subterranean city of Xanadu. Looking at the opposite wall showed him where the breeze was coming from. One of Xanadu’s tunnels connected directly with this room. From Mr. Happy’* viewpoint it seemed a large black throat, its path cut straight into the rock for a few paces then suddenly disappearing downwards as a steep decline took it beneath Xanadu. Was there really a network of tunnels that delved down under this city? Mr. Happy remembered the elevator shaft that had taken him below ground and how far down that had extended and judged there were.
Between Mr. Happy and the tunnel a broad stretch of room lay, extending out to his left and right. A solitary candle rested like a sun in the middle of the room on a high stand, shadows revolving around it. Everywhere there were cots, all arranged in strict lines with spacious corridors between them. Many were two-story and most were occupied. Supine bodies lay on those beds, the ones away from the light taking on the silhouettes of sarcophagi while the ones nearer to it could easily be identified as noobs. From everywhere the deep breaths of sleeping people whispered upon the air.
(C)Mr. Happy began working his way down the row that stretched before him. As he neared the candle the half-healed scars that covered some of those peaceful faces leapt out at him in lurid detail. Did they drug the noobs between testing sessions to get them to sleep like this? Wolf0122 and the others had tried to draw his attention from this building while showing him Xanadu and now Mr. Happy saw why.
The pull came from a line of cots three rows down from his, and as he worked his way over to it a flash of movement near one wall of the cavern caught his eye.
