I'm back from my extended (and unnecessary) vacation. Sorry, about that, I had writer's block. Anyway, here are some more adds. As Selene exited the temple, she realized something was wrong. She could already hear voices she did*’t recognize, which could only mean one thing; someone else had come to the temple, and in all likelihood, found Rose. The Elven girl cautiously made her way out of the temple, carefully concealing herself from whoever might be outside. By now, she could make out what was being said.

“So, you see,* a man was saying, “You should lend your power to our cause.”

“But will that really get rid of those stupid rules?” a voice Selene recognized as belonging to Rose asked.

“Of course,” the man replied.

By now Selene had a good view of the cave; five men dressed in red and black robes were standing by Rose conversing with her. Selene would have remained hidden for a while longer if Rose hadn’t noticed her and shouted, “Hi What’s-her-face!” Immediately the men turned, and Selene realized she had been caught. Shrugging it off, she began calmly walking over to them.

The apparent leader of the men smiled at her as she made her way over.

“Good afternoon,” he said. Selene realized that he had been the one talking to Rose. “Allow me to introduce myself,” continued the man, “I am called Fitzroy, my brethren and I here are ministers of our faith… And you are? No, wait, let me guess…” He looked Selene over and said, “A proud and powerful Elven woman, likely a mercenary, wielding a double sided naginata… You must be Selene.”

“You’ve heard of me?” Selene asked.

“I try to keep up with the news,” replied Fitzroy, “You are quite famous you know.”

“I regret to inform you, but I haven’t heard of you,” said Selene.

“Ah, that would be my hope,” replied Fitzroy, “As I mentioned, my brethren and I are ministers of our faith; a faith, which unfortunately, is not well liked by the other gods. But then again, you aren’t really the religious type are you?”

“Can’t say that I care much for the gods,” replied Selene, “However, I am curious, are you followers of Zaros?”

Fitzroy laughed at this question. “Goodness me, I should say not. We are followers of a far more powerful god, Akyros.”

“I’m afraid I haven’t heard of that one,” commented Selene.

“Few have, regrettably,” replied Fitzroy, “Akyros is a very powerful god, but unfortunately, as of now he lays dormant. We were trying to get this girl to help us awaken him.”

“By which you mean rebirth him, of course?”

Selene and Fitzroy’s eyes both widened with shock. Both knew that voice well, it belonged to Aquaregis. Before Fitzroy or his men could react, the Flames of Zamorak sprouted under them and exploded upward. Fitzroy managed to protect himself with an orb of red light, but his men were not nearly as lucky, and burnt to ashes. Moments later, Aquaregis appeared, standing a short way off from Rose, Fitzroy, and Selene.

“Ah, hello, did you all miss me?” asked the mage.

“Aquaregis!” shouted Fitzroy, “You dare interfere again! When Akyros is revived you will be the first to perish!”

Aquaregis smiled slightly, “Is that so? That useless god is going to destroy me? That will be fun to watch.”

“How dare you refer to Lord Akyros as useless?” demanded Fitzroy, “Your disrespect knows no bounds!”

“Why do you say that? Because I insult a god that was created by mortals?” asked Aquaregis, “Akyros is nothing more than a collection of the evil with the hearts of mortals and demons. It has no form of its own… to use any real power, it must first possess a mortal, and even then it can be destroyed. To worship something as loathsome as that is ridiculous.”

“You will pay for such blasphemies!* exclaimed Fitzroy, “Behold, the power of Akyros!”

As Fitzroy spoke, a shadowed figure leapt out from behind Aquaregis, and buried its claws in the mage’s back. Aquaregis was caught entirely by surprise and fell forward. However, he still managed to turn enough to send green fire lancing into the figure and throwing it away from him.

The figure hissed as it picked itself up, and slowly approached the injured mage. As it did so, Selene got a good look at it. It looked like it had once been human, but any sanity it originally possessed had vanished without a trace. Its eyes reflected rage and animal instinct, and its face was twisted into a bestial snarl. When the creature had advance a bit it quickly lunged for Aquaregis, but the mage was expecting it this time, and sent more of his green fire slamming into it, throwing the beast to the ground once more. The beast picked itself up once again and advanced, apparently oblivious to its singed hair and burnt skin.

Aquaregis readied more of the green fire that had repelled the beast twice before, but before he could use it, he collapsed to one knee. Selene realized what was happening once she saw that the beast’s claws were glistening; there was poison on the beast’s claws, and Aquaregis was suffering from the effects of that poison.

The beast lunged at the mage once more, and this time would have likely succeeded in killing him, if Rose had not intervened. Selene watched in surprise as girl summoned a large pink fireball and hurled it into the beast, causing an explosion which echoed through the caverns. Before the beast could pick itself up, Rose made a motion at it with her hand, and a stream of magma shot up from the ground under the beast. It howled in rage and pain as its body burnt to a blacken husk. As the husk that had been its body fell apart, something black and loathsome forced its way out and tried to flee through the air, but Rose noticed it and sent a bolt of orange lightning at it, vaporizing it before it could get far.

Selene turned and saw that Fitzroy seemed to be in a state of shock.

“So she’s against us,” he sighed, “No point in staying then.” So saying he vanished in a plume of black flame.

With Fitzroy gone, Selene turned her attention to Aquaregis. The mage seemed to be unconscious and was breathing shallowly. She quickly removed a anti-poison potion from her cloak and removed its cap.

“Don’t bother,* said Rose.

Selene turned and looked at her in surprise, “He’ll die if we don’t cure the poison,” she said.

“You might not have noticed,” replied Rose, “But he tried to cure himself with magic shortly after he used the green fire the first time. The poison in him is fiend poison, it can’t be cured with anti-poison potions or spells.”

“Then what can cure him?!” demanded Selene.

“Only a few things; a god’s power probably could, the only other things I can think of are a phoenix, or one of two potions; one is called Logos Tears, which can cure pretty much anything, and the other is called Angel’s Blood, but both are very rare.”

“Do you know how to make them at least?” asked Selene.

“No, but I do know someone who might have some Angel’s Blood,” replied Rose, “I don’t really like him though… but, I guess we can go see him.”

“How far away is that person?” asked Selene, “I don’t think Aquaregis will live much longer.”

“Asgarnia,” replied Rose.

“That’s too far!”

Rose simply smiled, and before Selene could say anything else, she felt a powerful sense of vertigo, and felt the world change around her. When she came to, she was lying in a room with walls made of white stone.

“What happened to him now?* Selene heard a boy ask. She turned and saw a boy in his late teens with blonde hair and blood red eyes standing next to Rose with a concerned look on his face.

“Fiend poison,” Rose replied, “Do you have some Angel’s Blood here? You had some back in the Solar lands right?”

The boy nodded. “It’* lucky I did*’t use it yet. Keep an eye on him, I’ll go get some.”

The boy ran out of the room, and returned less than a minute later with a vial of glowing white liquid which he proceeded to pour down Aquaregis’ throat. Almost immediately, the mage’s breathing returned to normal, and he seemed to go into a normal sleep.

“He’ll be alright,” said the boy, “Lay him on the bed.”

“Can you wait just a moment?” asked Selene, “Because I want an explanation as to what in the four hells is going on here! I’ve been trying to find out about this girl, Rose, and you seem to know her. I’ve also now had to deal with some guys following a god named Akee-os or whatever, and saw some weird creature attack Aquaregis, and nearly kill him. Meanwhile, this girl suddenly can use weird powers. On top of all that, I don’t know where the heck I am.”

“Well, for starters,” said the boy, “You’re in the White Knight’s Castle in Falador. As for the rest... I think you deserve an explanation, so I’ll tell you once Aquaregis is in bed. Will that be alright?”

“Very well,” grumbled Selene.

After Aquaregis had been put in bed, Seth sat down with Rose and Selene.

“First, let me ask; what do you know about the four children?” asked Seth.

“The four children?” repeated Selene, “Not much, but the god of darkness mentioned them.”

Seth sighed, “How about the primordial deities?”

Selene paused, trying to remember what she could from the stories she had heard as a child in Prifddinas. “There are five primordial deities; the First God, the god of darkness, the goddess of order, the goddess of chaos, and the god of light. It is said that the world was formed by those five deities.*

*Yes,” said Seth, “Adonai, the First God, creator of the other gods and the universe, the being which taught humans to love, and even now is said to sustain the universe; Erebos, god of darkness , who taught humans magic, and rules over dreams, passion and death; Ananke, the goddess of order, who taught humans how to govern themselves, and who oversees fate and the laws of the universe; Khaos, the goddess of chaos, who taught humans how to brew alcohol, and showed humans how to have festivities; and finally, Aither, god of light, who taught humans about honor and duty.”

“I’m impressed,* said Selene, “There are few who know the names of the primordial deities.”

Seth continued, “What you might not have known, is that every couple of centuries or so, four children are born into the world; each bearing the favor of one of the primordial deities other than Adonai. Each child bears some attributes of the god whose favor they bear.”

“And Rose is one of these?” asked Selene.

“She is the “child of chaos”,” replied Seth, “And bears the favor of Khaos, goddess of chaos. That is why she was unaffected by “Conflagration of Chaos” in Varrock, and why Bandos, god of war, and Zamorak, Gielinor’s god of chaos are trying to convince her to join their sides.”

“So she has power from the goddess of chaos,” mused Selene.

“Ah-hah!” exclaimed Rose, “You’re planning to use me to get back at the god of darkness, aren’t you?!”

Selene was so shocked by the declaration that she nearly fell over.

“Revenge on Erebos?” asked Seth, “Did he do something?”

“That-” here Selene muttered something that Seth recognized as Elven profanity, “Killed my little brother.”

Now it was Seth who was surprised, “He did? How do you know?”

“I went to his temple to ask him for some information, and he was displeased by what he called my “arrogance.” So he said he was going to punish me for it. After that he left, and I thought he was just bluffing, until I got home… I was told upon entering the village that a cloud of darkness had enveloped my brother as he was standing outside the house, and that after the cloud vanished, all that was left was a small crater.”

“That doesn’t mean your brother was killed,” interjected Rose, *Besides the god of darkness is too wimpy to kill someone like that, he probably just teleported your brother somewhere, knowing that you’d think he’d been killed.”

“What?!” demanded Selene.

“Nothing is ever straightforward when dealing with Erebos,” commented Seth. Under his breath, he added, “Anyway, I’ll talk to him about it.”

“Well, I’ll make that idiot of a god tell me where he is,” Selene muttered angrily. Composing herself, she turned to Seth and asked, “Now, who is Akyros?”

Seth fidgeted for a while, obviously uncomfortable with the question. Finally, he managed to say, “Akyros is… an artificial god.”

“Did you say “an artificial god?!”” questioned Selene.

“Yes,” replied Seth, “He was created by negative emotions from mortals and demons, and has only one purpose; to return the world to the nothingness from which it was created. He has tried many times, and been killed every time, but as long as there is evil in the world, he can be revived and try again.”

“And those people who were after Rose near the god of darkness’ temple?” asked Selene.

“They wish to revive Akyros… I’m not sure why they would want to, but nonetheless…”

Selene started to ask something else, but was cut off as a temple knight burst into the room.
“Lord Seth!” exclaimed the temple knight, “A report from our spies in Menaphos! Zarosians have been gathering in the desert to the southeast!”

“The southeast?” repeated Seth, “What’s there?”

“They’re currently excavating something, but we aren’t sure what it is,” replied the temple knight.

“What could be buried there?” asked Selene.

“Elidinis’ Sight.”

Selene, Seth and the temple knight turned to see Aquaregis leaning on one of the walls for support.

“Are you sure you should be up?* asked Seth.

“I’ll be fine,” replied the mage.

*I’ve heard that before,” Seth sighed.

“More importantly,” said Selene, “What is Elidinis’ Sight?”

“A temple,” replied Aquaregis, “Built over where Guthix put the Threads of Fate.”

“Threads of Fate?” questioned Selene.

“I don’t know exactly what they are,” said Seth, “But they are said to allow a person to see into the future.”

“Sounds like something the Zarosians would want,* commented Selene, “But it would take too long to get there, so I don’t think we could stop them.”

“Are you sure?” asked Aquaregis, holding out a golden scepter.

“Where did you get that?” asked Selene.

“Let’s just say that dead pharaohs really don’t have need of such artifacts,” replied Aquaregis.

“You stole it,” accused Selene, *Geez, you’re a tomb raider too, and here I thought my opinion of you was low enough.”

“That’s enough talking,” said Aquaregis, “We’re going to Sophanem.”

Before anyone could protest, the scepter flared to life, and the world faded around Seth, Rose, Selene, and Aquaregis.
